What a beautiful park! We were staying at an Airbnb nearby and we had a few hours until we had to be to our next event, so I took my kids here to the playground by the pond. Beautiful! They played the entire time! The trails were muddy so we didn’t go far in, but the paved road through the trees was perfect for waking and running. I felt safe alone during the day the next morning when I came back to run. Would highly recommend this place to families. *I did not check to see if there were restrooms and if they were clean, I’d there were any. CON: parking is crazy there by the park. Just a tiny lot and it was PACKED on a Sunday afternoon.

I went to the zoo part of this park, but the park has way more to offer than what I was able to see. The zoo is awesome. The kids can swim in the fountain at the front, which I would have loved as a kid. The animals were fairly active as it was cooler and had rained in the morning. I was able to see the Cheetah move around, which was neat. I was able to see the wolves, even though they were sleeping. The panda bears were my favorite. A lot of zoos don't have panda bears. They also have a seal show that was entertaining too. Definitely a must see zoo.

I was surprised to find such a nice city park with so much to do. Ideal for families with young children - "water area" with fountains to splash around in and cool off on a HOT summer day, a huge state-of-the-art playground (the nicest I've EVER seen in a free city park - it was "Disney quality"!), basketball courts, trails for walking/running, lots of shaded picnic tables, clean restrooms, and much more. They also have a huge Dog Park. Highly recommended for a family with kids visiting Memphis who need a break from the beach for an afternoon.

Overall the park was neat and they have a huge selection of animals to see and learn about. Regretted not having brought snacks but that's a total mom fail. I assumed they wouldnt allow them and that they would sell food but we only ever found dippin dots, sodas, beer, and pretzels. Get there early, buy tickets online and have thecode ready on your phone for someone to come by when you stand in line...took about 45 minutes just to park and maybe 10 in line with the tickets. This was our first zoo trip as a family
