I LOVE Aunt Charlotte's! I've been getting candy and chocolates from there for over 30 years! In 1997 I worked at Sydney's Hair & Nail Salon on Centre Street across from the News Nook/Cigar Alley and the old man who owns Aunt Charlotte's would stop in every single store, shop, business and church in downtown Merchantville and he'd give every single person who worked in the town, a hand delivered treat every Halloween, Christmas and Easter. The chocolates and candies are made on location in the factory located above the store. They have an antique scale right inside the front door that you stand on to weigh yourself. My family has marked it as "Tradition to weigh yourself" as soon as you walk in. They have super soft stuffed animals and a few toys too for the little ones. Every year, they raffle off a giant 20-pound chocolate bunny. I like the milk chocolate sponge, chocolate covered marshmallows, and many different flavors of truffles. But my favorite is their signature "Personalized Easter Eggs!" They will write your name (or your kids' names) IN CANDY on their eggs - for free - if you ask them to! Excellent for families with more than one child who celebrates Easter and/or gives their kids Easter baskets. Personalized Easter eggs when i was growing up was always something my siblings and I looked forward to every year. I think the chocolate is better than Hersheys chocolate!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to visit at least once in your lifetime!! You WON'T be...

Add on review: I do not recommend going in here around Christmas time. I went in on December 18th around 11am for Christmas presents. Store was packed to where you couldnāt walk. 2 registers open. Very long lines at both registers. Everyone in line was leaning against the merchandise display tables, shoulder to shoulder. The merchandise was blocked from my view. Lots of people working in the back but only 2 at the registers (couldnāt someone be out at the registers helping to bag or gift wrap?). After 2 minutes, I thought, āwhat are the chances of me being able to walk around this store with every aisle blocked, actually see the products behind the customers in line who are leaning against the displays, get through the line in less than an hour and have all my purchases gift wrapped by one of the two cashiers while an enormous crowd waits behind me?ā. I decided it would be an exercise in futility and I walked out. The current operations are not working and itās not my problem to figure out. Itās theirs. And they obviously havenāt done so. Maybe a 3rd register? More employees behind the counter? Iāll never go in there again during the holidays. The rest of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTheir chocolates and candies are bar-none. People love to rave about Lindt and Godiva, these blow Godiva out of the water in taste and Lindt in variety. It's a small, home town chocolatier who will actually dip your strawberries for you if you take them in on a "chocolate day". They don't do scheduled tours, but if they're making candy the day you ask for a tour, you get it. It's nice to know that they don't have "prepped" tour days because you actually get to see how they work everyday, as well as the cleanliness of the facility & the employees, and that they practice proper handling & manufacturing methods. And anyone who makes their own candies and treats at home knows that you can't wear gloves for everything - your skin cells aren't being left on the candy, they've been scrubbed, sanitized, and coated in powdered sugar. This place is amazing. And it's cool to know that it was all done by hand right upstairs. My kids could stay there all day long just looking around and trying different treats (and so...
