We've made two visits to the new Thai Ginger 2 in Merchantville. Our first visit was for takeout. The order was ready on time and the food was very good. We ate at the restaurant on our second visit, almost exactly one month later. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food, once again, was very good. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. Soft piano music was playing at the beginning of our visit, which we especially liked. In person or when ordering takeout, you can easily adjust spice and salt, even fat levels, of the dishes you order. We like spicy food, but found that Spice Level 2 met that requirement at this new Thai restaurant. There are also many options of dishes made with tofu for vegans/vegetarians. The only dish I would tell you to avoid, is the Chive Vegetable Dumplings. They sound so good, but they are really just fried squares of dough (?) coated in chives and flavored with garlic - overall just too fatty/greasy. Otherwise, do give this new Thai restaurant a try. The food is fresh, authentic and flavorful. It's also a BYOB. Well...
Read moreI have ordered from this establishment on a number of occasions without any major issue with the food. The main issue comes in about its appropriateness for this community. Most of its customers come from local residents. In essence, we keep them in business. However, when it is time to return the favor for the people of this community that support them, they are not available. During any holiday parade or gathering where the community comes together as one family, this business closes its doors and turns its back to the people who live there. Therefore, I do not feel as though they see themselves as a part of our Merchantville union, but just a business to make money off of us. They may fair better in another town, but for Merchantville this is not the energy or the atmosphere for that type...
Read moreI love Thai food, and I couldn’t be more disappointed. I ordered the takeout lunch special. I didn’t get everything that should have been included and paid extra for dumplings that I didn’t get. The Pad Thai didn’t have any vegetables of any kind, no bean sprouts, no peanuts. It had spice, but there was no other flavor; it just tasted like chilis. It was grossly overpriced, even at the “special” lunch price, for subpar food. I would pay maximum $10 for what I received, and I was charged nearly $25. Not good, not worth it. It looked okay inside, but of course no one was there because it’s such a rip off. I wish I hadn’t thrown my money away. I can make noodles with chili sauce myself for less than $1. Or get microwaveable Pad Thai that has more flavor for less than $5. Don’t...
