You have to pay the day rate or have a state park pass. Of course, they will sell you a pass as well.

It is a nice little park. It has lots of shade as well as a large open grass area in front of the lake. There are sidewalks everywhere, including next to the water's edge. If I had a disabled friend or relative, I would take them here.

There are modern bathrooms in the middle of the park with a concession window. You can rent or reserve(I don't know which) pavilions with barbecues. You can rent peddle or small aluminum boats. There is a fishing dock at the end farthest away from the dirt parking lot. There is a nice wooden playground for younger kids.

The best part for families is the wading/swim area in the lake. It is very shallow with a nice sandy bottom. Perfect for toddlers or younger kids. You can set your picnic up on the grass next to the sidewalk that borders the lake. The kids can walk across three feet of sidewalk, then step down six inches into the the water's edge. Not any extras for older kids except for the big grassy area for frisbee, ladder bar, corn hole, etc.. If you are not bringing Middle or High Schoolers, this...

Lake Lansing Park is a great family retreat - especially during those hot summer days! There are plenty of places for families and groups to get together for picnics, barbecues, and fun games such as volleyball. Lake Lansing itself provides an opportunity to get into the water to cool off, but there is no full-time lifeguard on duty. An area of shallow water has been designated, and people on the beach there have an opportunity to watch occasional sailboats and small motor boats pass by at a safe distance.

There is an admission fee for those who do not have Ingham county Park stickers and passes. It presently ranges up to $5 per car per admission.

The people generally are orderly, well-behaved and everyone seems to be minding their own business and not causing disturbances or annoyances to others.

There is a small concession stand selling basic goodies such as ice cream, pop, etc. Public bathrooms are of course available at no charge and are generally...

Had a friends daughters graduating party here. 3 of us met up here who were all friends in high school. Spent 3 hours talking about the old days and the exciting stuff we were still doing today. Take time to meet friends and family in places like this. 3 months later we lost Chris. Was not even 50. Good shape. Fell dead of heart attack mowing the grass on his farm. I'm too busy. I dont have time. I dont like his wife. He always dresses funny. His dog is ugly. People all make excuses to NOT go to these things but it's the people that matter. The little things. Take time to take the photos and the video and to eat and laugh and be with your friends and family. It was not gee I should of gone and seen Chris or I should of done this. All we talked about was the great time we had here at the park and the party just a few months earlier....we made our own last fond memory of our great friend Chris and we never ever thought it would be the last...

We enjoy this park. It's on Ingham County's largest lake and has been established for over 100 years. The only reason for a 4-star review is the COVID closure of the beach this summer and a dirt parking lot (clean cars will be dusty upon departure 🤔). Otherwise it gets five. There are many activities from the grass spaces, to sand volleyball, swimming, fishing, a bandshell for events and summer concerts, pavilions and grilling spaces and pedal boat and kayak rentals. This is a gem of a park in the northeastern part of the county.

We wanted to try out our kayak. Since we are out of towners, had to pay $5 to park. Park at the beach side is really big and pretty. Very clean as well. Nice piers with lots of benches to sit-fish from. Plenty of green space to lay out and the beach area was nice. The water was really clear. We just kayaked a little bit to test our toy. Will be coming back on Friday for the Free concert. Probably will be back tomorrow to kayak again. Such a nice park!

Granted, it's 11 a.m. and there is only one family making subtle sounds... There's a gentle breeze brushing against my back as I sit on a bench facing the lake. The sun is shining, and the weather is sweet. It's so peaceful right now that I'd rather stay all day if it weren't for the groceries I just bought. No need for salmon going bad and reeking up my car with that fish stank 😒
