El Oasis — Restaurant in Meridian Charter Township

This rating is based on their sheer lack of respect for my time and money. I AM TIRED OF GETTING UP AND GOING OUT WITH THE SOLE PURPOSE TO EAT THERE AND THEY ARE CLOSED. I waste my time and money ( gas ) to give you business and you cant have the common courtesy to be open when you say you will be ( Haslett location ). I recommened everyone to your trucks. I have even had the company i work for hire you for our catering needs ( im the fat food guy at work, they always seek me for ideas on the good food places to cater for us ). That all ends today. It was my last straw. I will not continue to support this place if they cant muscle up some common courtesy. Have some integrity and open and close when your suppose to not when you feel like it. I drive 20 minutes one way.

Cheaper than Qdoba or Chipotle and a 1000x better. Two women in a food truck just cranking out some of the best Mexican food in mid-Michigan! They have beef cheek and tongue as a meat selection, which tells me this isn't just some place cranking out marinated chicken breast and cutting corners. I typically ride my bike over there, grab my burrito and head home. So I stick to the Big Burrito. But when I am there in line people are always ordering something totally different from me and not just tacos. Wide selection of wholesome, well made food for not a lot of money. Totally worth checking out. Ask for the hottest sauce they have, you will not be...

Such a love/hate relationship with this place. Everything I've eaten at El Oasis - tacos, sopes, tostadas, burritos - has been uniformly good-to-excellent. There's nothing remotely comparable on the east side of the Lansing area, which makes the universal hassle of getting food at any of their locations so depressing. Is the Haslett location currently open for service? Maybe...it's a mystery until you get there. They likely are cash only, except sometimes not. If there's a few cars in the lot, you can expect a sizeable wait. But the food IS good so I'll keep coming back. At least until another taco stand with better customer service opens up...
