This might be the least expensive gym in the area, but itās a āget what you pay forā situation. I joined in August of last year and was told that fixing the AC in the free-weight room was āin the budget for next quarterā. The summer ended without the AC being fixed and they kept the room cool throughout the winter by keeping the door to the outside open. Start of this summer we were continuously told the AC was getting fixed in 2 weeks, in 2 weeks, every time we asked, in 2 weeks. 2 months later itās still not fixed. Last week I asked when the AC was getting fixed and they said āFriday.ā Itās now the Monday after and the AC is STILL not fixed and itās beyond hot and stuffy in the free weight room. Currently all of the dumbbells are scattered all over the blue turf leaving nowhere to work out (the other half of the room is blocked off for the evening HIIT class that you need an upgraded membership for, blocking off access to the equipment whether itās being used for the class or not).
Besides the AC being non-existent, the equipment is old and in disrepair. The various weight machines are squeaky and the weights stick and the weight amounts are worn off so you have to guess. More ellipticals and bikes than anyone could possibly want, and no one is ever on them. But very limited number of treadmills and stairclimbers, which thereās almost always a wait for. Lots of racquetball courts which are only occasionally being used. They should be using those courts as class studios and free up the part of the free weight room that is blocked off for the evening HIIT class.
The water fountains are hit and miss as far as dispensing water, and the āmaintenance neededā message and āchange filterā lights have been on since I joined a year ago.
The membership information on the website is not correct and things I thought that were included in my membership were in fact not; I needed an upgraded membership. When asked why it clearly stated otherwise on their website I was told that ācorporate controlled the websiteā and it was out of their hands.
I am so disgusted and disappointed in this gym. They are clearly in violation of the contract I am bound to, and at this point I donāt even care that Iām going to have to pay for the remainder of my year even though this will be my last visit. I got through my warmup this evening before it was unbearable...

UPDATE: I was able to exchange messages with the COO of Harman Fitness (you have to love LinkedIn). He said he would ensure I received my refund.
My original review was one star. But the COO made me feel like the way I was initially treated is not the norm, so I am raising my review to three stars.
I had a bad billing experience which soured my opinion of Crunch and Harman Fitness.
We had a family member move out of state. When he did they suspended his account. He is not moving back, and they charged us. No reminder. Just a charge.
When I told them this family member would not be coming back and asked for a refund. They refused. The manager, said I would have had to give notice and that an email exchange from six months ago was all the reminder I needed.
The email exchange in question followed two attempts to cancel the membership. The first attempt was a in person visit, at which time we were told we could not cancel. The second was a phone call. Again, we were under contract and could not cancel. Finally, we acquiesced to an account suspension. And frankly forgot about it.
Crunch followed the letter of its policy, and the manager was proud to tell me how important following policy was. But in this case no one is going to use the service, and they are just taking my $20 bucks to be strict.
The email exchange and phone conversation with the manager ruined my day. In the end, the manager followed his company's policies, but it sure felt like I was being mistreated.
I want the companies I do business with to be flexible, considerate, and...
Read moreMy review is based over a one year period. I enrolled while they were running their promotion for a $0 enrollment fee. All seemed great during the sign up and I was told that since I enrolled towards the end of the year I wouldn't have to pay the yearly maintenance fee until next year which was a total score. That was until next week when my bank account went into the negative because I was charged the yearly fee. I went in for a workout and talked to the front desk and they gave me a number to call because the General Manager had stepped out. I called and left a message. A day goes bye, still no response. I call again and get the front desk they write down my information and said they would call back within an hour. They never did. This goes along three more times. I finally give up and take my loss. They have a great variety of machines and multiples so you never have to wait and stop your workout. The gym itself isn't as clean as I would like. The machines and weights were covered in dust and my last straw when I saw feces on the womans bathroom floor twice in a row in the same stall.. meaning they never cleaned the bathrooms. I talked to the front desk and canceled my month to month membership. All should have been good until I received a letter in the mail from a debt collector saying "crunch fitness" was sending my debt of over $200 to collections. They never canceled my membership like they should have and have been trying to charge me all this time, but I had a new debit card so I never knew. So much for "cancel anytime" , I would not recommend this gym based off customer service or cleanliness. The only perk that gave them a star was the...
