HOW THIS HOME ISN’T BEING RECOGNIZED AS A HISTORIC TREASURE AND PRESERVED BY THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI IS BEYOND ME! What a treasure it was to tour it! We’ve been on a roadtrip touring the southern states for historic sites and it’s so extremely rare to find a home that still has EVERYTHING original to its time! Not replaced or made to look like it! Just original and authentic! Including an armoire with clothing left just as it was! I sure hope the people that own this are able to keep up with it! IT’S A MUST VISIT historical mansion! Don’t think about it! Just go see it! Didn’t have to call for a tour ahead, last walk in tour is given at 2:30pm. Tickets don’t need to be purchased ahead of time.

The Merrehope Home is fantastic with a wonderful history. Our tour guide informed us this lovely 20 Room mansion started out as little more than a cabin. Over the years its was added on to until it reached its present state. Ironically, the rooms all flow beautifully as though it was all built at one time. Most of the furnishings were in the home when it was obtained. A great tour and beautiful home.

Trees of Christmas was a lovely way to spend an hour. Walking through the two old houses to see the historical pieces along with the lovely holiday decor was great! Yes, the property isn’t in the best part of town, but you don’t really notice once you are there. I appreciate being able to support historic preservation too!

It is a classical revival mansion in Meridian Mississippi. Mr Wilson guided me around. I was the only one so it was a private tour and the explained the interesting history of this place. It was the only structure in Meridian that was not wiped out by the northern forces of General Sherman because it was to be the headquarters for his general period and it has the biggest magnolia tree in the state anyway he was a terribly nice person and made it...
