Hope Village Thrift Shop — Local services in Meridian

My personal experience at this store was not good. I went the first day and the lady with some small dreadlocks hit me. Find what I was looking for, but I came today and there was a white guy with messy hair looking at me weird as if I was coming to steal something, the items there aren’t any more than five bucks and I’m sure that I can fit that bill. If not, there’s a number of people I can call if I don’t have it next time ask me is it something that I would like help with or make me feel welcome. That way I wouldn’t mind spending my money in actually Coming back again I actually complemented this place the day before because of the customer service but today the younger guy who I guess thought I was a kid like himself, but I’m old enough to be his mom. I’m just blessed made me feel as if I was a thief and I haven’t stole anything in my life as a matter of fact I own a company a corporation to be exact other than that, they have some pretty reasonable prices oh, and I forgot to mention when I was leaving the store in my car about to drive out of the parking lot that same guy who the black lady with the small dreads said earlier is their security, but I know it’s not only profiling people and not doing the right thing like asking customers if they need help watched me as I left the parking lot and I stopped to ask him what was the problem, but he was back inside of the...

Great staff and great items, but prices have gotten outrageous. I listened to people saying the same thing, this stuff is donated to them at no cost and this is a thrift store and the prices are way too high. Just because a shirt is new you don't change twenty dollars for it .The store was set up to help hope village and so low income people can get something nice at a low prices .I watched a lot of people who came in to shop walk out with nothing because they could not or would not pay those prices for second hand items no matter how new . We went to Hope Village on a Saturday afternoon, well before close at 3pm. Their selection was disappointing, but even before we could leave (again, well before closing time), he turned out half of the lights, but didn't lock the door, so people continued to enter. He told us that he didn't mean to rush us, but I'm not sure how else to interpret darkening the store around us.
