Meridian Lauderdale County Public Library — Attraction in Meridian

Libraries, what comes to your mind when you hear that word.. I don't know about you, but for me, it definitely brings to mind old musty books down some dark book line shelves..sounds familiar..Well not Meridian Library as you can tell it's full of natural beauty and all kinds of nooks and corner that that just seem to draw you in to spend a little time with us..Let's not forget the beautiful area that's set up for children..they will want to spend hours just trying to find that one perfect book to read. So if you haven't been in a while..or even if you have..why not go back and dust that Library card off..chances are you'll find like I did that it's expired anyway and it's time to renew it anyway..so while your there check out all the new changes and improvements and for goodness sake read a book...

Any time I go there the staff stare at me like I've said I'm going to rob the place or I'm going to steal something and it makes me feel very uncomfortable they don't it to any other families except mine from what I've seen so far. I think the security guard is racist in general and he stares at my family all the time like we've stolen something it makes me and my family feel unwelcome like we don't belong there he did that when we first started going there walking around near us and staring at us it feels like I'm being stalked or he has something against us. Maggie the clerk is a sweetheart. We haven't been here in a few years having just returned to the area. Glad to see update to children's area. Great selection of books and dvds for kids. Only wish for more interactive areas for kids and interactive things to check out. Vicksburg, where we just moved from, had clear containers to check out, that had puzzles, toy kitchen foods, creative play items like rods and spools to connect, magnetic tiles, etc. Great alternatives to check out. But we're grateful for our local meridian...
