Urban Roots Salon & Co. (Meridian) — Attraction in Meridian

Felt like the appointment was rushed and the stylist didn’t really care since I had a hard time trying to explain what I wanted (since I know nothing about hair.) Wanted a low highlight done with no bleach/color on top. Yet, I have bleached hair and spots on top going to my roots. Hated that my hair was dead after the appt. due to the excessive use of bleach and hair product during the entire appointment. Spent almost an hour for my hair to be shampooed and conditioned just sitting there not knowing why and all the color just washing out. (Stylist was shampooing and conditioning very rough to where it was painful and asked an hour later if my hair tangles when wet. I said yes and then she proceeded to finally rinse one more time and brush my hair out.) Stylist wanted to add more color and product but at that point I felt sick and dizzy to the point I just couldn’t continue and wanted to go home. I know that it could be because my hair just didn’t like being dyed and such but I’ve been to this salon before and everything was fine then. Must of just been a bad day for getting hair done. Taylor has been my stylist for about 6-7 years and I have truly found “my person!” In the styling world. She is excellent at color. She has helped me over the years find what really works for me (and it changes!) and is amazing! I always leave there excited about how she has cut and colored my hair. She is very knowledgeable about product and offers suggestions (if asked) without ever (!) being pushy or making me uncomfortable. I trust her and depend on her professional opinion... which she offers but always listens to my input and concerns. There are days I want to talk and others that I bring work in with me and want “down time”. My young adult son is also a client and he is not too interested in hair/appearances ...yet he also loves her. She simply knows hair and knows her clients! My stylist, Daisha, is an absolute gem! I`ve been with Daisha for a while now, and she never disappoints. She always listens carefully to my needs and offers stylish suggestions that fit with what I want in the moment. She is patient, attentive, kind and skillful. What I appreciate the most about her is the attention to detail and skill to ensure every time she colors my hair the placement of the color is perfect and no strand is out of place.
