I signed up and paid in full for a month of personal training. Of course that entails 2 60 minute sessions a week with a trainer.
Alright, first week. First day we just talked about nutrition and what we were going to do/goals, regular stuff. Unfortunately the trainer was then sick for the next training session. It was communicated that he was sick and we would have to reschedule, no problem. The problem came around when there was no communication whatsoever to when he was back in office.
I sent an email saying hey, for the missed appointments since you were sick and cancelled them, can we set the new appointments for around 8 am doesn't matter what days but I would like to start. I was given an answer of "ya that's no problem." As a regular consumer in this capitalist world I then assumed there would be a follow up email of, does this day work, how about this day, awesome lets set it up. Nope, I was just sent two emails (two days later by the way) telling me I have two appointments back to back days without any sort of consultation on whether or not they would work.
Like bro look, I get this is a gym, but communication is literally step one in any working relationship and I can't believe I am going to be wasting $944 dollars on something when I should've just figured it out on my own. A little peeved not gonna lie.
Like please imagine paying 470 something dollars and then not using it for two weeks. I would assume that for a chain gym they should have a sort of substitute trainer system as to cover for someone when they are out sick or unresponsive, yet I was just left to waste my money essentially. Hopefully the next month and a half goes by quickly.
I don't want a response and I don't to deal with anything from the company. I just want to finish my time with training and never...
Read moreI had purchased a one month pass from axiom to test out the facilities. While it was clean and a decent range of equipment it didn’t make up for how poorly my account was handled. The second day I went to check in with my barcode they told me I was not in the system. They still let me workout and we all agreed they must be slow getting me in the system. Fast forward about two and a half weeks later and after me going in to work out nearly Everyday. I’m stopped again and told I’m not in the system. I was surprised and let them know I had definitely paid and showed them my bank receipt. I asked how it could be fixed so that I wouldn’t have to keep having the same issue checking in. Both of the people managing the front desk had no solutions for me. They said they didn’t have the ability to fix it. After another two days of walking and being Awkwardly questioned about whether I had really had a membership and having to pull my bank receipts so they would let me in, I quit going! 7 days were left in the month but it was worth it to me to go somewhere else. I was tired of being treated like I was trying to sneak in and was really unimpressed with how sloppy they were handling my account. I went back to my old gym and feel really good about that decision after my...
Read moreThe facility itself is nice. Friendly staff, lots of variety in equipment. On a surface level, it appears clean. They have options like sauna/tanning/ hydrobeds. They make shakes and sell products to help you with gains.
It is unfortunately overshadowed by the people who frequent it. Whether it be a bunch of beef heads or girls seeking the attention of males eyes. There is a lot of ego here and people are not very friendly. They tend to hog machine and gather in groups, causing it to feel overcrowded very often. If you aren't extroverted and confident in yourself, it can be difficult to come to this facility and do what you need to do. Especially when everyone gawks at one another. The most annoying part of my experience was the people who felt the need to take up a bunch of area with disregard for others. They were doing exercises all across the top floor, impeding or cutting off others, and then would glare at you as if you were in their way. It makes it uncomfortable to try to work out. It was also very common for both guys and girls not to clean the machines. They would get it all sweaty, then walk away and go do other stuff.
For all these reasons I give it a 3. I'd give it less, but that's not the gyms fault for the type of people...
