I have had the worst experience that I’ve ever had with getting my nails done at this location. I called in the morning asking if it would be possible to get a mani/pedi that day, they said that it would and that I could come as a walk in then. So I arrived at the salon around 11:30am. I was their only customer when I came in. I asked for the mani/pedi gel combo and they told me to pick a colour — I picked 092, a shimmery white. I sat down in the chair for the pedicure. The woman who was helping me attached the piece in the foot bath wrong so it ended up splashing me as far up as the face immediately after the turned the bubbles on — she quickly reconnected it and patted down my left side, the chair, and my purse to dry it. Throughout the pedicure she went through the motions of cleaning my feet, but it was extremely short and ineffective. At this point I was still trying to let it go because I really just wanted my nails to be painted so they could be protected and not break until my wedding which is coming up in a few weeks, and the only request that I truly had was that both the feet and hands be the same colour. She asked me several times if I want the gel on my toenails, I kept saying yes. She started painting them, and asked if it was okay. I said that it was a little transparent (I don’t know if that’s how that specific polish is, or she was putting a very thin coat on them, but it was unevenly transparent.) At this point, another woman had come over, and told the one who was working on my toenails to use a different polish, then talked to me about it and said that they’ll do the white and then the shimmery white on top to still give me the colour I want but have it be less transparent. It made sense to me. The one working on my toes put a white coat on top of the other ones that I had wanted and left it at that. I couldn’t really see exactly what they looked like while she had my feet, but it’s my toenails and I care less about them than my fingernails. So I let that go, too. Then she takes me in the manicure chair. She asks me if I want my nails cut, I tell her to cut them just a little bit and shape them to be oval. She cuts straight across and says “Okay?” I say “No, I want them to be oval” and she proceeds to cut more straight across, and at this point maybe realizes what I’m saying and starts filing down the sides of my now much shorter than I had wanted (again, only reason I had wanted a manicure was to preserve the length of my nails). She finishes filing, and each one of my nails are a different length and shape, and I bring this to her attention, she files some more but it doesn’t really fix the different shape and length problem, just makes all of them shorter. She starts cleaning up my cuticles, and manages to cut one of my cuticles and my finger is bleeding, and doesn’t say anything to me. The other woman comes over and sees that and says something to her, so she apologizes afterwards. She starts painting my nails and paints them all with the white, which makes sense for if they were going to use it as a base colour before painting it with the shimmery white. She doesn’t. She paints them all with the white, and while she’s painting them they already start to bubble and are uneven, so I bring that to her attention and she fixes one nail. Then, leaving them all white and a whole different colour than the toenails are now asks “Okay, baby?” And I explain that it’s not okay, but I’ve already been here for too long and she can just go ahead and leave them, since every time she tries fixing something she makes it worse than it’s been. So I go to check out and the gentleman At the front hands me a check for $140, when the package is supposed to be $90, the lady who kept trying to help the lady who was working on my nails fixed it and tells me that she did the nails different colours because she thought that I wanted them a different colour, even though she was the one who said that they were going to be using it as a base coat before the shimmery. The worst experience I’ve ever had at a nail...
Read moreI have been coming here consistently for several months now for gel + acrylic manicures and pedicures, and I can confidently say, this is one of the nicest places I’ve ever been. Here’s why:
First, the customer service is incredible. It’s very easy and convenient to make an appointment. But most importantly, everyone is so friendly and sweet, especially the manager Tiffany. She, and everyone on her staff, always give such a warm welcome, whether you’re a new customer or a returning one. Right after checking in, they take your coat, offer you a free drink, and walk you to your seat while asking how you’ve been and what’s new in your life like you’re an old friend. It’s wonderful and so genuine. It really sets the tone for how you’ll be treated here.
And of course, every set of nails I’ve gotten has looked amazing!! Each technician is committed to making you happy. I’ve been worked on by multiple techs - Tammy, Vicky, Lan, and Chelsea so far - and each one of them has been so so good. So it doesn’t matter who you get, you’re in good hands no matter what. They’re very talented and hard working. They don’t settle until you’ve gotten exactly what you wanted. This is what I’m looking for in a nail technician. I don’t know about you, but I love getting exactly what I want, and this place 100% gives it to you just like that.
The spa services are so relaxing as well. Your pedicure chair is also a massage chair, you can get a hot pillow for your neck, the paraffin wax feels so good - every bit of the experience is bliss. If you’re like me and work a lot (I have 3 jobs), it’s extremely difficult to relax and enjoy myself, but every time I come here, I know I’m going to have a good time and some beautiful nails that I always get complimented on, and I can let my troubles melt away.
All in all, I would say that this place is special and I recommend it to all my friends, so if you’re unsure of where to go to get your nails done, whether it’s just you or you and your girlfriends, pick this place. I promise you won’t be...
Read moreI was at your nail salon next to the Dunn Loring metro station on Sunday. I was not happy with the service I received for the $125 that I spent. I have the receipt to prove I was at your salon. I was given limited options at your salon and rushed towards the end. For the amount I paid it would have been nice to at least get the colors I wanted. Other customers were able to pick from multiple options. I was not offered many choices. I think because you were closing soon and tried to speed up my service by offering less choices. The staff was friendly but I wish I could have at least picked colors off the wall for my pedicure. It would also been nice if the lady manager didn't try to choose my color for my manicure. It was not what I wanted and the nail tech knew it as well. But she was nice enough to finish my nails even though I was not happy about the color. Also the TVs seemed to only play shows geared towards men. Only one TV showed an island scene. The other two had car racing and basketball. There was only one man in the salon getting a pedicure at the time. It would have been nice to see some variety. I also wasn't offered anything to drink when others around me were offered. Not sure if you just pick and choose who you want to give special treatment to. Since the staff was nice I gave 3 stars. I took 2 away since I was not happy with...
