Desert Trails Bike Park in Mesa, Arizona, is an absolute five-star gem for mountain biking enthusiasts! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the sheer awesomeness of this place. The trail system here is top-notch, with a variety of trails catering to riders of all skill levels. You'll find the perfect terrain to explore whether a beginner or a seasoned pro. The park is exceptionally well-maintained, and the clear and informative signage makes navigating easy, even if it's your first visit. Safety is a priority here, and they've thought of everything, including rental equipment and lessons for those just starting. The desert scenery surrounding the park is nothing short of breathtaking. It's a truly unique backdrop for a day of biking adventure. Pack plenty of water and sunscreen, especially in the Arizona heat! It's an incredible destination for mountain biking, and I can't wait to return for more thrilling rides in the beautiful...

The parking lot is a bit small- U shaped to fit about 20 or so cars and no shade. Albeit, it is a very nice park. There's a few ramadas by the parking lot. Facing the park, on your right, there is a mini-dirt pit for beginner bikers practice. There are gently sloping tiny hills that are about 2 feet (?) high; saw some kids practicing there. To the right of that, there is another beginner area with wooden arched bridges. These bridges do no go up high either and stay very low to the ground.

Beyond that wooden bridge practice area, you can to the fence and hike up the Butte Trail. I see that trail is for bikers and hikers. Anyways, as a coward hiker myself, I will say that Butte Trail was not bad. Gentle spiral climb up and you are treated with nice birds-eye view at the top of the city. You could probably climb up and down several times. I would say it probably takes 15-20 minutes...

I didn't know what to expect when I chose to drive out to Mesa this morning. I remember the trails of years past but they are long gone. The city had increased funding and made this place sick! Imagine the Papago bike jumps if they were well groomed. There is a pump track, a skulls course with some little ladders and teeter totter. There is a beginners course with beautiful berms and lippy little tables. There is an intermediate course with bigger berms, some ladder drops and some fun jumps into and out of berms with some bigger doubles at the end. Then there is an expert course with massive berms, big ladder drops, transitions out of berms and some big doubles. 5 foot lips and 8 to 10 foot gaps. The place is as firm as concrete and extremely well groomed. It is a...

Desert Trails Bike Park is our favorite bmx bike track out there. There are three different courses: Novice, Medium, and Expert. I highly recommend that you have good safety gear when riding here, especially at the least a helmet. These are some pretty big jumps and with the momentum gained from the incline of the hill you catch some serious air! I think it might be a little less dangerous than say the concrete bike tracks, but the ground is hard and if she buff it you're going to feel it. It's a great little community of people that go here too though, and everyone sort of looks out for each other which is another great thing about this place.
