All i have to say is you must try this establishment. Honestly wasnt sure wjat to expect. But, i decided to go. I love food. My family does too. Now, i hate to say but we go at least twice a week AS FAMILY, ;). Get what i am saying. Every dish on the Someburros menu tells the unique story of the Vasquez family and Poncho’s, their first restaurant which opened in South Phoenix in 1972 and showcased the family’s signature, time-tested recipes for authentic Sonoran-style Mexican food. The popularity of Nana Isabel’s dishes, such as her famous tacos and her red and green chili beef, quickly spread throughout the Valley. In 1986, Isabel and her husband, Eusevio’s son George, and his wife Mary opened the first Someburros on Mill Ave. and Baseline oad in Tempe, Ariz. I will post new items as i continue to go. So i went again. Must try dessert with ice cream. Try margaritas.. yummy..with salt or sugar on rim. Great place to take school team. OR group on shuttle. TRY now! Oh my try the cheese crisp open or closed with chorizo...:) Now try MARGARITA MONDAYS. Half off.

I came here the first week this place opened and was underwhelmed and I chalked it up to hopefully new staff learning the ways. Tried it again for the second time tonight and was extremely disappointed. The level of care put into this food is appalling. My burrito looks like a boxer punched it like a heavy bag. The cheese crisp had a pile of cheese in the middle and none around the side. The taco was cracked my kid didn't need it. I spent $30 on a pile of slop and it's unfortunate cuz I live right down the road. After spending 30 minutes in the drive-thru waiting for my food that was ordered online with only two people in front of me I don't feel like returning.

We love the burritos here 💚❤️. We recently went to buy burritos and we got a scratcher from the waitress for Someburros. We won the fiesta platter. When we went back , I thought maybe we should each get a burrito and share the platter. The waitress said we would have plenty from the platter. It was so delicious and made a couple of meals for me and my grandkids. I felt guilty when they brought the platter Lol. I was expecting a small one. I'm thankful and grateful for the kindness and generosity. Very pleasant and polite employees always. We will continue coming. I recommend you all try it out ☺️. You will not be disappointed.

I normally love Someburros but this one was disappointing. We’ve been a few times because the first was bad, but familiarity with the brand made me want to give them a second chance. The first time we ordered a taco salad, a tostada, and tacos. The taco salad was awful, the tostada and tacos were good. On a second trip we retried the taco salad which was good, their cheese enchilada was ok, the taco was good, but if the shell of the tostada tasted stale like it had been made a week prior and was disappointing. Our third trip thinking “well they’re inconsistent but maybe they finally sorted themselves out” was really just the final straw. We mixed it up trying fish tacos, a tostada, a taco, and a bean and cheese burrito. The fish tacos came out cold. Not lukewarm, refrigerator cold (they brought out fresh ones about thirty minutes after we brought it up) the taco was good, but the tostada. Again, stale, like they cooked a bunch and are just trying to get through them all passing them hoping nobody will say anything. Finally the bean and cheese burrito was decent enough. Really hard to screw that up. Then again it should be hard to screw up any of this. The staff is hit and miss, sometimes nice, sometimes inconvenienced by our very existence. One kid that was trying to be helpful would go from cleaning something to scooping chips out of the heater without washing his hands or putting on gloves. At the end of the day I would rather drive the additional 25-30 minutes to a different someburros if I desperately wanted their brand. If you only wanted a shredded beef taco then that’s probably safe. Anything else though you’d probably find better quality served at the county jail.

Also avoid their Mexican pizza. It looked like someone placed a tortilla underneath a dog with a severe...

UPDATE: FEB/2025.. I really used to enjoy this place. However over the past couple of years it has gone downhill. I went from eating here several times a week to maybe weekly to monthly to rarely due to the lack of quality and consistency. Today I figured I'd give them another try after 6months or so and unfortunately was very disappointed. Their burritos half of the time are 90% tortilla and 10% filling. You never know what your going to get. I've spent so much $$ trying to actually enjoy the food by paying for extra beans, cheese, meat, or whatever it is in hopes that the food would at least come out edible. So many times even after adding $5+ worth of extras to one item, it came out as the opposite of what I ordered basically. I've even gone to the extent of ordering 2 of the exact same item and weighing them when we got home. Results were all over the place. For example one would be 8oz and the other would be 18oz, yet they are supposed to be the same. I used to say something when I received something that was obviously wrong but would often get attitude, so I just quit giving this place my business. Don't waste your time and money on this place, they clearly don't respect their customers. Glad this place opened up so close to our home. The food is really tasty and some of my favorite around. I really enjoy their Tacos, Huevos Rancheros, and Red Beef burros enchilada style.

My only complaint is that several times now our take out orders have been screwed up. Items were missing or not...

First off, I love Mexican food. I love the various flavors and dishes that make up Mexican food. This place was a disappointment. When looking at the menu, some of the dishes are not very well described nor are they labeled in an understandable way. They have a veg burro... That's it... No description of the contents, just the veg.... Come to find out after my mother bit into it thinking it would have more than just vegetarian beans...that was all it was... The other food was lacking in distinction from other places. The second issue was the staffing. While it was nice to have a drive through for phone and internet orders (the only reason for the second star) the staff were more interested in talking to each other than handling the business of taking payment and ensuring a good customer experience. When my wife placed the order, 3 times she had to repeat the same thing for 1 dish before moving on to the next items to be ordered. Then when she asked about how long it would be for the order to get ready.... They hung up... I get it.. when there is a dinner rush, it gets crazy, however good service is all the time with no exceptions. Will not...
