In a moment of severe nostalgia, I decided I should go to the movies since I hadn't gone in years for some reason.
Let me start with the positives. The movie room was clean. The floor is marked with the row letter which was a nice feature. The chairs are worn but the cleaning crew keeps them surprisingly decent. The ticket taker was also in a cheery mood and very welcoming.
Negatives may be the usual stuff like the room is super loud and the restroom floor was really slippery.
Worse. They eliminated the ticket kiosk outside. Now everyone piles at the entrance to buy tickets off a screen. They encourage you to buy online so likely they're trying to eliminate this overhead as well. For now, it makes the line super long and slow due to a solid combo of fidgety screens and tech-challenged septuagenarians.
By far the worst part of the whole experience was trying to get snacks. Since this is where the theater supposedly makes money, you'd think it'd be more streamlined. When I arrived, the line was long, almost to the door. It was hard to tell because it ran into the line of people waiting to buy tickets. Naturally, I said, welp, no popcorn today. About 20 minutes into the movie, I had the bright idea that maybe the line had grown smaller. So I went to look. It hadn't moved at all. There were now people making small bonfires and mothers holding their children who cried about their now non-working legs. I got in line because I always had a curiosity about what purgatory would be like but Dante couldn't have come up with this stuff. There is a priority line and the menu boards flash with commercials. That's on top of all the commercials before the movie starts and the commercials before the movie starts. In case you feel hope in your heart about the priority lane, it's just as slow, somehow. I wish I was exaggerating but 55 minutes later, I had popcorn! The movie had ended though. The pretzel bites I ordered would be delivered to no one. I didn't get a refund. I considered it an idiot tax on me for coming here. The coke machines are even more temperamental than the ticket machines so I couldn't even have that small comfort. As an extra spur to never come back, my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn August 23, 2025, my group and I attended AMC Dine-In Mesquite 30 for a scheduled movie. Due to unexpected road closures, we arrived later than planned. While the trailers at AMC typically run 25ā30 minutes past the posted showtime, we entered the theater approximately 10 minutes after the trailers had ended and the movie had just begun.
Upon arrival, we observed other guests outside who stated they were being denied entry despite having valid tickets, with staff claiming the theater was āclosed.ā When we attempted to get the attention of associates, they ignored us and continued eating while working, even though the theater was clearly open to guests already inside.
We eventually got the attention of a security guard, who immediately began shouting that the theater was closed. I presented our valid tickets and explained that our movie was still ongoing. After some resistance, he eventually allowed us to pass with our group.
Once inside, while we attempted to speak with a manager, the security guard began antagonizing my husband, repeatedly insisting the theater was closed, despite our valid entry. My husband, in response, took a photo and video of the security guardās badge number for documentation. The guard continued escalating the situation, even while we were in the presence of the manager.
The manager did not intervene to de-escalate the conflict or stop the security guardās behavior. Instead, after further discussion, the manager abruptly stated that my husband would have to leave because he had allegedly used profanity toward the guard. This claim was falseāat no time did my husband curse. He only asked for the guardās badge number.
Feeling unsafe, I escorted my husband out. The security guard continued antagonizing him outside the theater. The manager offered no resolution beyond a gift card in place of a refund, dismissed our concerns, and brushed off both myself and other guests who were experiencing the same issue.
As a result, I have initiated a formal complaint and case investigation regarding the unprofessional conduct, lack of accountability, and failure of both staff and security to appropriately handle...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy brother and I went to AMC 30 Mesquite tonight to watch a movie and had the ABSOLUTE WORST movie experience we have ever had. Their were unsupervised kids (more than 15) everywhere sitting in seats they had not paid for. People had to keep asking them to move out of the seats they had paid for. This was a sold out movie due to it being an opening weekend the movie came out. The movie explicitly states that no unsupervised children under the age of 17 after 8pm...the kids were well under that age and the movie started at 9:15pm. They should not have even been in the theater at that time. I went and spoke with the manager who did nothing, but asked me to go and talk to security. There were 3 separate people at the desk complaining about the unruly kids constantly talking loudly, burping aloud, hopping seats all over, etc. I spoke to security and told him the exact row they were on. He said "ok" but never came to remove the kids.
Other adults in the theater also left and spoke with management or even requested for the kids to please lower their voices and still nothing happened. After an hour in to the movie security finally came and remove a few kids on the front row who were extremely loud, but never came to speak to or remove the kids on the row I told them about. Since neither management or security would came to remove the unruly children in the rows I informed them of, I went and asked the children myself to please quiet down or leave the theater. This worked for several minutes and the raucous started again. I spoke with the manager for a 3rd time and told him I was very unsatisfied with what happened. I missed parts of the movie having to leave and speak with him and security on separate occasions.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME going to this theatre. Much more peaceful theaters to attend. I will NOT be going back there again. I do understand that it's a big theater to try and police, especially on weekends, but when you have multiple people repeatedly leaving a theatre and reporting and incident, more should be done. The cherry on top is that despite all my complaints, no refund was offered for my ticket or my...
