I will start by saying the food is average here, I have had better and I have had worse. I have been to thousands of restaurants and I have never, ever had as bad an experience as I had at this particular restaurant. I have never, never, ever been to any business in which the owner encouraged me to go to their competition for future meals due to complaints about service. The complaints we're about their outrageous prices and exceptionally slow and inattentive service. Of you order olives and fetta on your gyro here be prepared to get about 6 olives for almost $3 dollars and for probably less than an ounce of fetta around 2 bucks. I could understand this practice if their less than average sized meat cone gyro was only a couple of dollars but at almost $7 bucks it's outrageous. Oh you want fries or rice with that 7 dollar pita that will also be an additional 2 dollars and change. Also when you order the completely average tzatziki sauce as an appetizer it comes with 6 small wedges of pita for over $5 dollars, if you ask for more pita unlike almost every other Greek restaurant I've been to they charge you almost $2 for the generous portion of... 6 more small slices of pita. And when you ask the owner if they're serious that they're actually going to charge you for additional pita they come back with "it's home made tzatziki that's why it's expensive" . Please spare me the self righteous nonsense, it's not rocket science to put some diced cucumber and garlic and spices into thin yogurt. The athenian salad was by far and away the most ridiculously overpriced thing on the menu, $7 for a flat plate with a flat salad. We also had a 20 dollar Groupon which they wonderfully only applied $18.48 of to our check. Diners beware, the two pictures of food I've included in this review would cost you over $20 dollars, and that's not a comically oversized fork in the photos either. And by the way it's BYOB... But beer prepared to pay $3 for the luxury of consuming the alcohol you had to go into the store to buy and bring with you... This is the first restaurant I have ever been to that charges you to bring your...
Read moreMe and my daughter ate lunch here after an appointment in Mesquite. I typically do not eat in Mesquite. I’m not a big fan of franchises. This place is truly traditional and a gem. They sent great home cooked food. We ordered the lunch lamb Gyros, which came with fries and a side of Tzatziki sauce, which was delicious. We also ordered the appetizer of Tzatziki and pita bread. Delicious. The lunch portion is very large and plentiful. Keep in mind it’s not the sandwich which most people think of a traditional gyro as. It’s I did order a Gyro chicken sandwich to go and both were very good. The sandwich is huge. However, I prefer the lamb over the chicken. The pitas are very fresh and do not taste like they’re out of a bag. I can’t wait to go back and try their pizza. The owner came out and spoke with us and he was very friendly and inviting. He had great suggestions when visiting Greece which we will be doing soon so that was a plus. You do not find establishments like this often . I am American born and love America however, the touch of other countries authentic food takes me back to those places that we have visited and have special memories. I highly suggest visiting and trying everything on the menu. Can’t wait to try Emanuels homemade pizza because with homemade marinara sauce and Gyro meat. Thanks for the great experience! We will definitely be back soon. This place is also very child friendly as my baby spilt a drink, and they were very friendly and family oriented. Just cleaned it up...
Read moreThis place is a joke. They charge $7 for a flat plate of lettuce, maybe a quarter of a tomato, about 5 olives, a dash of feta and a slice of cucumber. There was hardly any dressing but I was afraid to ask for more in case it cost extra. I love Greek salad and we didn't even finish at least $3.50 worth of this lousy salad. My husband asked for feta and olives on his gyro, which cost an additional $1.47 for feta and $2.26 for olives. We had a Groupon for $20, and they actually only took off $18.48. Want a to-go cup for the $2.25 drink you already paid for? That's an additional $0.75. They insist the tzatziki sauce is homemade and worth the $5.50 plus an additional $1.35 for extra pita that you will need because they don't give you enough, but it tastes store bought. I've had MUCH better tzatziki at almost every other Greek place I've been. This place is overpriced with mediocre food, and even worse customer service. We were all out of water more than once. We had to flag down for more water. Don't waste your time coming here. Unfortunately I can't add pictures of the itty bitty salad and the overinflated receipt. They will literally nickle and dime you over every single thing possible and then take an additional $1.52 out of your coupon to pocket themselves. ...
