What was supposed to be a beautiful and excited experience has been ruined for me. This experience has been nothing short of stressful. I went in March , stating I needed a dress for my wedding in May. I was well aware of the time crunch I was in and I stated my budget. I found a dress within my budget, but the young lady said I’d have to order it in my size. I expressed my concerns about it fitting me correctly and arriving in time. She said it would fit me perfect because we were ordering it in my size and would arrive on time. When I got there to receive my dress, a lady handed it to me and walked away so I asked another person if I could use a fitting room to verify it fit me, and they said yes so I did. The dress was baggy as all get out. I stepped out and waited with my family for about 15 minutes before anyone checked on us. I expressed my concerns and the fact that I did not have time to wait for alterations. The lady told me I could get it altered on time but, “I’d have to pay for it to be rushed.” That being said, I paid what I paid for the dress IN ALTERATIONS. When I arrived to pick up my dress from alterations, I tried my dress on again. It fit perfect!!! However, my dress was damaged. There was small black spots all over my white dress, which stood out very obviously, and I noticed multiple snags on the front of my dress in the middle of the bust. The first older lady came out and tried to help with the snags, explaining they have a machine that should help with it. I gave her my dress and waited patiently. Then another lady, Jennifer, came out. I was looking the dress over and was upset because the snags were still visible, and the black spots were still there. I pointed them out to her, and she rolled her eyes and said “well, I tried” which was not enough for me. From bad attitude, to the fact I EXPECTED my brand new dress to still be in brand new condition. She walked away, went to get a manager, and they both went into the alterations area with my dress. Once again she came out with a bad attitude and huffed and puffed while I looked my dress over. There was still a ripped seam on the side that had been there since my dress came in, that I pointed out to the original seamstress that had not been attempted to be fixed, and still black spots all over the dress. Jennifer said, “give me a minute” and went to the back for quite a while. The original seamstress came out and I showed her everything. She explained she did the best she could with the snags but the material of my dress is delicate but that she’d try to get the black spots out. Sure enough about 10 minutes later, my dress was handed back to me stainless (yay!) but snags still in the middle of my bust. For a $500 dress I expected it to be perfect. I feel like I have been bamboozled and mislead. This experience has been the most stressful out of my entire wedding planning. This location has awesome customer service when you’re actively spending money; but the minute it’s time for them to fulfill their end of the deal, it’s a shitshow. I wasn’t offered a partial refund, or even an apology for anything I have gone through at this location. You’d be better off...
Read moreWe got there around 3:30pm on a Sunday. The dresses seem reasonably priced, and there are a lot more options than what you might find in local boutiques. When we walked in, we were greeted, and some associates asked us about more info for what we were looking for in a dress.
We started looking at dresses, and Rhonda (older lady) helped guide us to a free fitting room. We tried on some dresses, and at first she seemed helpful, but then as time went on, it became difficult to work with her to find a dress. She refused to let me help spread out the train (this is maybe the 5th bridal store we've gone to, so we have an idea of what we're doing and what we're looking for), but would also just stand there, holding the train bunched up in her hands, being insistent about how she needed to be the one to let it go in the back, and then refusing to let me help spread it out at the front (I assume that she didn't want to ruin the product, which I understand, but she wouldn't let go, and it felt like we were waiting and wasting time). She insisted that we needed to try the slip-ons underneath the dresses, even though we told her that we'd be okay without, and tbh, the way that the dress we had on and the fit of the bride was, it didn't seem to make any difference. She wouldn't let go of the dress until we stood in front of the mirror in a certain way (because the stage was not long enough for some of the trains) even if the trains didn't look like they'd be long enough to go over the edge of the stage. While the bride was trying on the dresses, it felt like she was guarding me from looking at the other dresses that we hadn't explored yet, and at around 4:45, she told us that we only had time to try on one more dress, but the store hours online showed that they closed at 6pm, and it took us maybe 15 min for each dress (less if she'd let us operate by ourselves). In the end, we just rushed out of there as quickly as possible, frustrated that we didn't look at the entire store since we're about an hour away. She did give us a goody bag for coming in (a reusable tote and travel size deodorant), and notified us that a different location tended to receive newer stock before this location did. Overall, I would say this place is worth checking out, especially if you're looking for dresses on a budget, but I don't think I'd come back myself.
Edit: After going to a different location, I realized the reason why I felt like I was being blocked from looking at the dresses was probably because I was trying to look at the extra inventory (it seems like rather than keeping the different sizes and versions in the back, they keep it out on the floor, and I thought I was just looking at a different, strangely organized rack). I feel bad about the misunderstanding, but still displeased about the rest of the interaction from that day. That being said, the store is probably has a smaller selection size than I originally thought, but it's probably still worth perusing for those looking for dresses...
Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing experience with the alterations at David’s Bridal. When I first went in, the stylist suggested leaving the fabric in the back unhemmed to create a train. I trusted their vision and agreed. However, after the hem was done, the fabric was way too heavy because of the beading. The train didn’t fall the way it should and ended up sitting under my feet, causing me to constantly step on the beads.
When I expressed my concerns, they insisted it looked “pretty that way” and second seamstress suggested adding a bustle instead of shortening it further, which was not what I wanted. The sides of my dress were also taken in, but they left excess strings hanging and didn’t clean up their work. I even noticed a small hole in the fabric afterward. I had provided them with extra beads that matched my dress, but they lost them. To make matters worse, the bottom of my hem was left with beads falling off. I pointed this out, but they dismissed my concerns and told me not to worry. I was persistent, and their solution was to apply fray stop which should have been done to begin with. When I had my alterations appointment I was told that they would not cut my fabric because the beads would unravel and consequently fall out.
In the end, I was so frustrated that I decided to just leave and cut the train off myself. I expected a much higher level of care and attention to detail for such an important occasion. This experience was stressful and disappointing, and I would not recommend their alterations...
