Banyan Community Health Center - Flagler — Attraction in Miami

My sister was a residential patient here following a manic episode we could no longer manage at home and we will NEVER send her back here. She stated that there was nothing for patients to do other than eat or sleep, although she isn't sure if it was only due to her mania she described feeling that the staff was against her and that they sometimes mocked or laughed at her and others' condition. She recalls a male patient flashing his genitalia at her long enough for her to wonder whether someone was monitoring the patients at all. In retrospect, she says her own mania could have contributed to the way she perceived Banyan but aside from her description of events I have my own horror story with their inept staff:

I drove to this location to pick up my sister. We spoke to staff that morning and confirmed on the telephone her episode was under control and that she would be ready for pickup by my mom and I. When we arrived, we found out that she had escaped and they did not know where she was. We spent 15-20 minutes in panic wondering how they could have let her walk out the front door. When we found her, she begged that if she ever has another similar episode we take her Anywhere but Banyan. Apparently, she had run because she was in fear of the staff and was unsure if they had truly arranged for her family to come pick her up.

This place is completely pathetic. I have had an appointment scheduled with Dr. Albelo for months now and I showed up today promptly at 3PM (I had to leave my office early and take off the rest of the day from work in order to do so).

The receptionist checks me in and hands me the forms to fill out, and after about 5 minutes of filling out the forms, just as I am wrapping up, the receptionist calls me to the desk and informs me that "uhm, oh yeah, I forgot to tell you the doctor had to go to the emergency room." She then suggested that I go down the street to their "affiliate" network to some doctor who was "probably available" and who "probably took my insurance" though she could not confirm either of those points for me.

I decided not to give Banyan or its affiliate my business and promptly walked out of the office. Avoid this place at all costs. I don't like writing reviews but this clinic is just wow. I was happy with my doctor and she left and the clinic didn't notify anyone. The new doctor always has an issue. I waited for an appointment for a month and a day before they cancelled and re-schedule for whatever time they wanted. I have a job.. I called and all they said was that the doctor wasn't coming in that day. Then why schedule an appointment that day????!! They changed my appointment for May 5th and then sent me a message today saying they were re-scheduling the appointment to May 19. I called and they gave me same excuse "the doctor wont be in that day". There's always an issue in this clinic. They take forever to see the patients. I left work early at 2 pm for an appointment at 3 and they took me in at 7 pm. They tell you they will refer you to a specialist and they never send you the information. I am...
