I recently had the pleasure of dining at Los Gauchitos, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Here’s what made my visit special:
Los Gauchitos exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The decor reflects authentic Argentine charm with rustic wooden furniture, vibrant artwork, and a cozy layout. The ambient lighting and soft music create a perfect setting for both intimate dinners and family gatherings.
The service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our server took the time to explain various dishes and offered excellent recommendations based on our preferences. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality made us feel very welcome.
The food at Los Gauchitos is the highlight of the experience. The empanadas were a fantastic start, perfectly crispy on the outside and flavorful inside. The steaks were the star of the meal, cooked to perfection with a rich, smoky flavor that was simply mouthwatering. The parrillada (mixed grill) was a great way to sample a variety of meats, each one more delicious than the last. The sides, such as the chimichurri sauce and grilled vegetables, complemented the main dishes wonderfully.
Desserts were a delightful end to the meal. The flan was creamy and smooth, with just the right amount of sweetness, and the dulce de leche pancakes were indulgent and delicious. It was the perfect way to round off a memorable dining experience.
While Los Gauchitos is slightly on the pricier side, the quality of the food and the overall dining experience more than justify the cost. It’s a great place for a special occasion or a treat-yourself evening.
Los Gauchitos offers a wonderful taste of Argentine cuisine in a charming and friendly environment. The excellent service and delicious food make it a standout choice for anyone looking to enjoy a high-quality meal. I highly recommend it and look forward to...
Read moreI should have listened to my inner voice when I stopped by at lunch time and the restaurant was completely ementy; not a single customer. But I was intrigued by the large wood fired pizza oven that is in their bakery next door. So I stopped by at about 7:30 pm to try the pizza. I ordered two pizzas. Unfortunately to my dismay the staff went to the freezer and pulled out two pre-made commercial frozen "pizza" crusts (with sauce already frozen on them) and put them on the counter. They covered them with the cheese and toppings. They then took them into the back room and put them in what I have to assume was a defroster to thaw out the crust. After that they went into the "wood fired" oven for 20 minutes. (It should take 1-2 minutes to cook). After 20 minutes the pizza crust was still cold and partially frozen and the cheese barely melted. The pepperoni did begin to "sweat" but was not cooked. I think the oven was about 300 degress farenhiet rather than the 800-1000 degrees that it should be. Unfortunately the "wood fired" oven is just for show. And the pizza was like supermarket frozen pizza cooked in an oven that is barely able to warm it up. Unfortunately if this is how they do the "wood fired" pizza I would never try the sit down restaurant next door (which had only one party eating at 7: 30 pm). I am writing this to give the ownership some advice. You have a beautiful wood fired oven. USE IT. Make your dough fresh daily. And heat up the oven to 800-900 degrees. (yes spend the money on the wood to "cook" the pizza not just warm up frozen pizza) And your pizza will be good and you will have lots of customers. Otherwise you will go out of business. People will try it once but that will be the last time and they will write a...
Read moreWent in on a late Sunday morning. Not at all crowded, maybe four other patrons in total as I sat. One server on the floor. I guess it was fairly busy considering it took quite some time to get tended to.
The menu has lemonade listed but they didn't have any much to my chagrin. The only drinks available that aren't coffee or soft drinks are fresh orange juice, Brisk Iced Tea in a can (which I settled for) and bottled mango juice.
Morcilla was really tasty. Well salted and seasoned. It's a bit softer than other morcilla I've had, which is fine, but it can be a little messy cutting into it. Would definitely get it again and with company I'd probably get it on one of the small table grills.
I ordered the Chivito Al Plato as my main. The difference between this and the sandwich is that it's served on a bed of fries instead of between bread. I asked if I could instead get rice and was told it'd be an upcharge, which I thought was strange. I stuck with the fries. I asked for no olives and no salad. Fortunately the olives were omitted but I did still get salad. The dish also comes with potato salad and a few veggies on the side. I haven't had Argentinian potato salad before so I'm not sure what it's supposed to be like but I wasn't much of a fan. Granted, it being a bit light on flavor I guess kinda balances the dish out. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the dish itself. Steak was cooked and seasoned well, all the flavors melded together beautifully. The bacon was a little sad, kind of middle of the road standard thin bacon, but I'm picky about the little bacon I do have.
I'd go again to try something else. The menu has many items I'm...
