I had dinner at Carnicero Steakhouse Flagler recently with my wife, and even though we had a 40-minute wait for a table on a busy Saturday evening, the experience was absolutely worth it. The restaurant was buzzing with energy, and the lively atmosphere made the wait feel like part of the night out.
Once we were seated, our server Enrique came over and recommended we try Cruz’s Michelada and the mojaita. We took his advice—Cruz’s Michelada for me and the mojaita for my wife. The mojaita really stood out; it had a distinct watermelon Jolly Rancher taste, which was fun and refreshing, almost like sipping on a sweet, fruity candy cocktail. The Michelada was also excellent, with just the right amount of spice. Enrique’s recommendations definitely set a great tone for the meal.
For our appetizer, we ordered the truffle fries. They arrived perfectly crispy and delicious, but I would have liked a bit more truffle flavor to really make them pop. Still, they were absolutely addictive and a fantastic way to start.
For our main course, we shared the Carnicero’s Board. The presentation was impressive, and I enjoyed sampling the different cuts of meat. Most were juicy and full of flavor, and we especially liked the sausage. The pork was a bit on the dry side compared to the others, but it wasn’t enough to take away from the overall enjoyment.
On the side, we had classic rice and black beans, which were comforting and paired perfectly with the meats.
To finish off the meal, we shared the tarta de queso. It was creamy, smooth, and not overly sweet—just the right touch to end the evening.
Our servers, Enrique and Rinco, were fantastic throughout the night. They were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. Their recommendations and warm service really enhanced the experience.
Even with the 40-minute wait and the minor issue with the pork, I left Carnicero Steakhouse Flagler feeling satisfied and happy. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming atmosphere, great service, and a menu that delivers on flavor. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait if you go on a busy weekend night—but in my opinion,...
Read moreMy friend suggested we try this spot after seeing it on Instagram. I normally don’t give these types of places a chance, but I’m glad I did, mainly because of the bar experience.
I sat at the bar first, and let me just say I have very high standards for a dirty martini, and Yoendi, the bartender, absolutely nailed it. Without exaggeration, it was one of the top five dirty martinis I’ve ever had in my life, and I am extremely picky. It was cold, perfectly balanced, and just incredible. Honestly, if I come back, it will be strictly for Yoendi’s cocktails. Later, he also made me the house espresso martini, which had a unique twist and was phenomenal. His professionalism and skill are on par with what you would expect at a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons. What a gem.
As for the food, the Carnicero salad and the pineapple jam with the Panadero service were standouts and absolutely delicious. The New York strip, however, was tough and disappointing. The rest of the food was just okay.
The restaurant itself is stunning. The chandelier, the bathrooms, and the overall vibe all make a statement. But one big miss for me was the use of paper napkins. For a place with such a high end aesthetic, the paper napkins felt out of place and cheapened the experience. Cloth napkins would align so much better with the atmosphere you are clearly trying to create.
Overall, the star of this restaurant is without question Yoendi behind the bar. He elevated the...
Read moreWe had a wonderful time from beginning to end. It’s hard to find a restaurant now days that you can eat good food and have excellent service. We were in line to be there as soon as it opened since it was Father’s Day and we didn’t have a reservation. Host was very welcoming and we were seated right away. Leandro was our waiter and he was amazing along with other staff that helped throughout our time there. Leandro made recommendations and was very attentive even when the restaurant started getting full. He made sure our order was put in before the rush. The place is beautiful; I guess the best way to describe it is rustic with a touch of elegance. The food is priced perfectly. Portions are not too big but it’s great because you can order a couple of appetizers for the table and finish off with the amazing pineapple dessert. I did not love the frituritas de malanga because they were a bit greasy and honestly I could not really taste the malanga but other than that, everything else was delicious. The appetizer with the ham and cheese was delicious. We had the picanha, churrasco and Denver Wagyu. As sides we had the yuca frita, truffle boniato, moros and tostones. Sangrias are pretty good. The red is sweeter than the white. Mojito was a little bland. Pineapple dessert and chocolate dessert were both very good. I am planning to go back for a date night to try the different drinks and the 2.5lbs ribeye. They are opening a location in...
