I used to come to this library a lot when I was working at Frederick D school and since they closed my local lemon city. The ladies that were there were very nice and ran the place well. Today however I went to use a computer in adult section, but they were taken except for the 2 that don’t work. I asked if I could use one by the desk but for the first time ever, even though out six only one was being used and the other a student was just charging her phone with it, the new employee bald with glasses just said he’d reserve a computer for me because he had to keep the others open for students, were talking about 5 that were not being used. I was actually going to do school work for my students which is ironic. So I wasn’t going to sit and wait for web surfers to be donde surfing so I could do some work. I felt this was a very greedy reaction when I’ve been allowed to use those computers while they weren’t used. I would’ve happily gotten up in the case that 5 students happened to show up to use the computer. So I won’t be back for a while....

Computers for public use are all clustered together in one tiny area, not separate like all other libraries. There are no work stations for those that bring their own laptops like other libraries. The patrons leave a lot to be desired - loud cell phone conversations chalked full of "colorful" language, using the shared computers in a study area to watch movies or YouTube loudly without headphones or loud inappropriate conversations with each other. Was once "entertained" by a couple making loud slurpy kissing noises as they made out in the library. Pretty good example of social disparities and inequality to visit this library and then others in close proximity. This place is...
Read moreThis is supposedly a library, but when you walk in it sounds like a playground. There are kids yelling at each other playing games and running around to play. If you try to talk to Candice (who says she's the manager and overseer of 2 branches) she says they are kids and they are allowed to do what they want. If we do not teach children the rules of a library (especially in this area) how are they supposed to learn to follow rules, be respectful, or be courteous to other people.
** The male manager of this branch is amazing, but still it's hard for 1 person to control a room full of yelling kids when he's the only one who tries to enforce it. (He is the only reason I didn't...
