House Of Wings — Restaurant in Miami

[This was a Doordash order and Doordash issued me a credit for the issue below]

5 stars for the food, wings were saucy and good. 3 stars for customer service - ordered 15 wings combo (with fries and drink), but received 13 wings.

This could have been an honest mistake or miscount, but if it were intentional due to the size of the wings (I'd say they were average to slightly large, but normal looking to me), then shame on you guys. I saw another recent reviewer complain of the size of their wings smaller than their finger and I get it. It's a tough crowd. But as a new customer/first timer, it was a bit disappointing to be cut 2 wings short.

This is my thought. If you have a shipment of wings that are tiny drumettes, you give your customers at LEAST the number they ordered, and then an extra wing or two. If you have a shipment of wings that are way bigger than your normal, you take that hit or you mix in some of those tiny pinky sized one to balance it out. I know it's a tough business to be in, but when you order things by a count as a customer, versus by weight, it's hard not to feel jipped.

I mean, I don't need the extra 2 wings, I'm a small person lol. I just wanted to be able to try two flavors. And chances are, because the wings were so good, I will order another time or two and see what happens. Keep y'all posted, but for now, I ordered the Jamaican Thai and Wet Lemon Pepper, with fries and a drink.

The wet lemon pepper was really good and did not come red/orange like some other reviews had posted, so maybe they fixed the issue, it seemed like legit lemon juice and pepper. I loved it. And the amount of sauce was good, personally I could have used another spoonful maybe, but it was a good coating, in comparison to your average wings.

The Jamaican Thai was also really good. IDK how to describe the flavor, it just seemed like wet jamaican/jerk type of sauce to me, but really good. Also a good coating of it.

The fries were ok, like a little better than average but I could have used a little more of their seasoning. I read another reviewer post that it was well seasoned so I was excited and got these instead of the onion rings but now I wish i had gotten onion rings. But NBD.

Overall, I'd still order again and see, because these were damn good wings, and it hit the craving spot for me. Kudos to Door dash for issuing a prompt credit, idk if this comes out of DD or HOW's pot, but...

Mmmm I was impressed with the wings and the sauce. The service was good and friendly. The wings were cooked to perfection. Not over or under cooked. I tried the Barack Obama and the lemon pepper wet sauce. The BO had a bbq flavor. And the lemon pepper wet sauce was like buffalo wing sauce. They did not spare the sauce. You didn't have to scrape the bottom of the platter trying to find more flavorful sauce. It was all there on each delicious wings. HofW gets a 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼up from me. A taste worth traveling from county to county for. On the other hand... The lemonade and ice tea is XXtra sweet. Might need a side of ice and water to dilute if that's not your thing. They were a too sweet for me... But I understand. 😉 The colorful slices cake is homemade and more pretty than tasteful. Whatever sauce you like... hot, sweet, garlic, saucy, wet, dry rub... over 60 flavors! If you're a wing lover this is the spot. And wait... they also have fried shrimp and conch....

Okay so I read all the reviews. I wanted to try it out! It’s a small restaurant, sitting on the corner. Staff is exceptional! Customer service over everything! So I gave them a 5 star because one they accommodated me with the wings. I asked for all flats and crispy they weren’t so he let me try it, to see if it was to my liking. I need crispy wings or I’ll choke! Lol but he took them back and I got what I ordered. He suggested a few flavors to try, since I told him I’ve never been there! He’s was very nice to explain what’s poplar and what he likes. I will share a few pictures of mine and my family’s order. The wings aren’t small they are medium size. I order the yellow rice and and a cake. The cake didn’t give me excitement. It was a bit dry. The owner seem cool, but looks mean. The restaurant is busy. I will share my photos. Judge...
