Summers in Michigan >>> 🚗We parked at Sanilac County Lexington Park Campground and the beach was secluded and really relaxing. ☀️The beach at Lexington Harbor was extremely crowded so we loved finding this spot about 3 miles up the road 🍣 We had an early dinner at Wind Jammer by the Lexington Harbor and it was extremely good and the views were 10/10 🛍️ We walked down Huron street around 6pm but a lot of the shops were closed so be sure to go earlier! (On Saturdays they have a farmers market that is super cute!) #lexingtonbeachmichigan #lexingtonbeach #michigansummer #lakehuron #michiganthumbcoast

It was hot and we wanted a beach day. So we set out to find a new beach and landed here. It is a nice public beach, but.. be warned.. it is a bit narrow. It was pretty crowded when we were there. Not surprising with it being 90F and humid out. It is a bit rocky, but once you are out in the water, it is sandy. It stays pretty shallow for quite a ways, so great for kids or those who aren't swimmers. It is along a rocky break wall, so there is a current. Not a super strong current like in Port Huron, but enough that you need to be wary and take precautions. I saw a small log move away from the shore rather quickly, so I kept us in the shallow area since my child is not a strong swimmer at all. It was quite chilly for mid August, but tolerable. I am guessing it must drop off quick to be colder. We were able to get used to it is and stay in for a long time, so not crazy cold. More refreshing than anything. There are bathrooms, it is a shame that they look like people have abused the heck out of them. The handicap stall in the women's bathroom looked like someone tried to rip the door off. I absolutely LOVED seeing recycle containers next to the trash cans. I wish more places pushed for that. Of course, it would also be nice if the people visiting these places used them for their water bottles, etc. I will also point out that the private property next to the beach appears to be adamant that you do not cross onto their property based on the number of signs they posted. I would go here again and maybe take a trash bag to help clean up. We did pick up some trash that was left by others on our way out.

This is such a beautiful and peaceful place to visit when we need restoration and rejuvenation. It is hard when you love and miss someone very much, and coming here helps clear the mind and set our hearts at peace, at least somewhat. God is good, however unkind and heartless people can be. We come here whenever we need to be reminded that God is in control. Praying for reconciliation and restoration.

There is about a 50 yard width of beach that is open to the public on this side of the marina and an even smaller width on the other side. The rest is all private. The city needs to do something about it. The playground had a rusted and sharp beam that broke off it.

If you go in the morning ~9 there are few people there but when we went back at around 2pm it was SO packed.

There’s a long stretch of sand leading up to the water if you don’t mind a walk to the water. And around the bathroom area there’s nice flower beds and grassy areas but for a town based on the water there’s barely...
