Room was clean and spacious. It's a basic room with an odd assortment of artwork on the walls and combination of fixtures - definitely not much character. The bed was comfortable, although my husband wished for a flatter pillow since he sleeps on his stomach. The shower would be a little tight for a large person, but it served its purpose. We were in Suite 3, which has windows overlooking the east parking lot and a patio with two grills and a few tables. As we were there during cold weather, there was no one using the patio and grills but I can imagine the room would get a lot of the smoke from the grills and a lot of noise if there were people out there in nice weather. Other than hearing the other renters use the wooden stairs outside our room and talk in the common area, we didn't hear much from any other suites. We didn't like that we couldn't control the temperature in our room at night because it was too warm for sleeping. We opened the windows, which let in cool air but also the traffic noise. The lodge is within easy walking distance from several local restaurants, grocery stores, gift shops, the beach, and the pier. We had fun watching the Atlantic salmon leap out of the water in the marina while the fishermen and -women hoped they could catch one on their line. I would recommend the Lake Huron Lodge if you are looking for a nice basic place to stay...
Read moreThis is the perfect location for a nice beach getaway in the charming town of Lexington. My hotel got canceled that I had booked through AirBNB and in frantically making phone calls to find a new one and save our trip, I found the Lake Huron Lodge. They gave us their last suite available. I didn’t realize that the beds were all in the same room, and upon arrival we had a good laugh that my husband and my mother would be “bunking in the same room” but it turned out to be fine because the room is very spacious with high ceilings and good airflow. The bathroom is also very nice. There’s a kitchenette area, decorative fireplace, table, and TV and couch in the room we had. It was so cozy. We have really enjoyed our stay and when we come back to Lexington this would be my first choice. It’s a close walk to everything and they have off street parking. The proprietors were also very friendly and...
Read morePhysical aspects of the hotel were fine. The kitchenette is very small, we were a group of 6 Women staying in Lexington for a training as part of our masters program. We planned to make dinner one night which wasn’t possible because there is 0 counter space. The other downside, which is a big downside. At 10 pm while we were playing board games, the owner came to our room and rather than politely asking us to quiet down a bit, he rudely told us “I’ve already gotten two noise complaints, and I won’t get a third”. So from that point on if we planned on having any fun at all we had to leave the hotel room. So BIG HEADS UP, if you plan on having fun with friends or family, don’t stay here. Find...
