Beware strobing lights for anyone with photosensitivity, including epilepsy
One star review because I raised this concern with their customer service via their contact tool and their response was completely inadequate.
My initial feedback:
âItâs hugely problematic that thereâs no warning or signage regarding the strobing light tunnels in your display.
My family drove through the Cleveland light display Friday 12/20. The individual driving was epileptic. We had no idea we would be driving through not one, but two strobing light tunnels until we were about to go through them. This is a huge safety issue for the individual, other passengers, and attendees in other cars. Itâs also a huge liability for your organization. For everyoneâs wellbeing there should be warnings on your website, as well as at the entrance.â
This was their response:
âHi Rachel,
Thank you for reaching out.
Christmas lights do have strobing effects. It is up to each individual to decide if they are able to attend if they are sensitive to strobing effects. I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience.â
The point is - thereâs no way to make an informed decision if thereâs no warning in place. This is a total lack of concern for customer safety especially considering it would be such a small effort to...
Read moreWe go every year. This year, since we havenât in a while, we decided to stop in and see Santa and shop around in the Christmas village. Santa was great and so was the woman taking photos! We stopped at the bouncy house, and my 12 year old son (who is autistic) wanted to get inside. So, we paid the $5 and he got inside and was jumping and having a blast. It was nearing the end of his 10 minute jump time and my husband and I were on the side of the bouncy house explaining to him that it was time to get out. Mean while, Gerry, the woman running the bouncy house was yelling at him from the opposite side that it was time to get out. She then walked over to us and frantically stated âhis time is up and he wonât get outâ to which I replied âI know, weâre getting him out nowâ.
He gave my husband a hard time, but he came over to the exit and reluctantly climbed out, all the while, Gerry was visibly rolling her eyes and huffing and puffing. As if we werenât already frustrated and slightly embarrassed.
Mind you, the struggle to get him out of the bouncy house lasted no longer than 1-2 minutes tops. Do better and be more understanding and be thankful that Iâm a changed woman, because it took EVERYTHING in me not to...
Read moreWe went last year and this year. The lights are really pretty cool and u can play the music on your car radio if u want to sync to their station- I could hear the music our the window anyway. Kids love it! I'd recommend a week night if you are able, for less wait times. Weekends close to Christmas can be a hot mess of traffic. LAST year we were re directed by the police right before we got to the main entrance on Bagley to a back entrance around the corner. It was a long wait to get in as you had to rely on the cars coming from the main entrance to let you into their traffic flow. If anything the venue could you more workers directing traffic. But these days , you know.... there's a stop about half way thru where you can park and do some photos, get hot chocolate and cookies ,chips, fresh kettlecorn or warm yourself at the outdoor fire. We used a code for cheaper tickets, check the website or fb- to find the code. We took 5 people and 1 dog for $19( + tax and convince fee). I also stopped at dollar tree to buy Christmas light up necklaces prior to going for the kids but they sell them there and light sabers and the usual eye...
