Iv shopped here a few times and to be honest the workers at the store are not very friendly and i purchased two hobby boxes and one of them didn’t even have a relic or auto in the hobby box… i called another time to get prices on hobby boxes they told me they don’t tell prices over the phone so we asked why and they said we just dont and they hung up on us… we live 45 min away and didnt wanna drive if they were over charging.. we let them know we have shopped here many times before and they said they didn’t care that was our problem & proceeded to tell me that they did not need our business.(what store doesn’t want someone’s business?) I then asked if I could grab the hobby box off the shelf when I come in, why can’t you tell me a price and he responded? I just don’t. I asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager and he would not tell me any prices bc he doesn’t want us shopping around. (but isn’t that the point of a phone call to shop around? … i would not recommend this business to anyone to get cards at.. my girl friend call them back and they were very rude to her.. has to be new owners because it was never like this.. stay away from this...
Read moreAfter going to all the card shops in Northern & Central NJ, I have to say that this place was the most pleasant, no-pressure & friendliest store with the most fair pricing. Been there 3x already. The owners are clearly selling for the benefit of their customers, and I don’t fault the other shop owners for being aware of market prices, but these guys are selling at such decent prices, it’s heart-warming! You don’t leave the store feeling like you got ripped off, but that you got a GREAT DEAL. It has an old-timey feel out of a movie or something. The owner gives out free gum to kids, they are so kid friendly. They also heavily discount things for the kids who showed up on their own with loose change. Lots of family types also stopping by. On top of this, they had EXACTLY what I was looking for (some older sets) in excellent condition and some other cards I wasn’t expecting to buy. You MUST stop by The Baseball Card Store if you’re looking for cards. Also if you’re looking for a specific player, they have boxes in the back of the store with filled with random cards by organized by player(!). I’m so happy I...
Read moreVery disappointed visiting this shop after reading all the positive reviews. The gentleman that was working there was very unfriendly, rude, and seemed like he did not want to be bothered. I had a couple of questions about different storage options for basic cards vs specialty cards like autos, relics, etc and he just had short 1 word answers and seemed like I was bothering him and wasting his time. Same story when asking about old sets he had for sale, all short one word answers. There were 3 different groups of children that had entered the shop while I was there and he was short and rude to them too. Also the prices were significantly more expensive than other shops; hobby & jumbo boxes were about $30 more than average. Had the guy been nice I probably still would have bought at least a hobby box & and older set of cards regardless of the price but since he was not I decided to take my...
