Today I went to michaels to get poster boards for a project my kids are doing for school. I homeschool. I asked for an educators discount like I usually do and the lady who checked me out looked at me and said well are ya a teacher? I said yes I home school and she looked at me shocked and very loudly said "homeschool?!" Right in front of everyone. I told her yes homeschool it's never been a problem any other time I've been here, I guess my kids standing beside me during school hours wasn't good enough because she said she needed proof very rudely, I told her I've never been asked for proof before but she continued to argued that her manager needs proof and no one will give the discount with out proof ( even though I come here all the time and spend tons of money and always receive the discount). If your not going to give educator discount cards what are you wanting as proof when customers are checking out?! Luckily I have my discount card from Barnes and nobles to show her, she almost couldn't believe I actually had one and proceeded to tell me that she'd give me the discount today this one time. I corrected her to me receiving the discount every time because I'm considered an educator. She rolled her eyes and told me she gave it to me this time anyways. I've never been treated with such disrespect by a cashier when asking for a discount for educators. I spend a ton of money at Michaels because I thought they supported teaching with this discount only to find out I have to argue to get it? I will most likely go some where else for materials now because I just can't get over how we were treated when I told her we home school. It was so bad my kids even asked me when we got to the car if we were allowed to homeschool because she acted like it was wrong. Idk, I'm jus bothered how she treated today in front of all those people. We could have done with out...
Read moreIts been a few years since my last visit to Michaels, and quickly remembered why I stayed away...very uncomfortable vibe throughout store, I wanna say it has alot to do with how everything is arranged and have stocked....overpriced, to WAY overpriced and their clearance section is basically the scraps of fabric or crafts you really cant do anything with and throw away, damaged, and even then still pricey. Best way I can put this: entire store looks like its the small awkward art and crafts section of a walgreens or a gas station your surprised they have and browse pass quickly, and laughing at the ridiculous price tags only someone desperate would get asap to not deal with going to walmart...I am not exaggerating, your better off going to Hobby Lobby, even DollarTree!! arts and craft...

NOT HANDICAP ACCESSABLE as signs seem to indicate. TERRIBLE HANDICAP ACCESS both to the building & to the restrooms Handicap parking ok, (if home office employee is not there). A wheel chair person would have problems getting in the building, using either outside the door - difficult for non handicap to get open. A person in a wheel chair cannot get into either restroom - DEFINATELY NOT AT ALL HANDICAP ACCESSABLE. There is a very tight hallway with absolutely NO radius area to turn a wheel chair or even a small scooter into either restroom door. PLUS THE ENTRY DOORS TO RESTEOOMS WILL NOT ACCOMODATE EVEN A SMALL WHEELCHAIR OR SCOOTER....
