Fujiyama is the last sushi place in Midland that I had yet to try. The āSushi & Moreā has intrigued me for a while. What is the āmoreā? Do they have ninjas that come out from the kitchen juggling knives? I decided I had to find out!
The location is pretty convenient on midkiff and 250 loop. Traffic isnāt too bad there even at lunch. The restaurant has a nice clean look from the street. Upon entering you see a very clean and quaint sushi restaurant that is well decorated.
The menu is a colossus! Letās just call it a āTomeā. Everyone should be able to find something they like from this beast of a tome.
If you guys have not noticedā¦. There is no ocean near midland. So sushi restaurants are REALLY hit or miss here. Some store or freeze their raw fish way too long and you can tell. I chose two items that are easy (for me) to tell if the ingredients are freshā¦. Raw tuna and salmon and egg rolls. Yes I am facing Lady Luck and the fates to give a good review here.
I ordered the Tokyo roll and pork egg rolls. The Tokyo roll has both raw tuna and salmon. And the egg rolls you can pick from pork , beef , or chicken - which right away tells me they are fresh and not frozen⦠probably.
The Sushi was fresh and delicious!
Egg roll was piping hot straight from the cooker and was probably rolled right after I ordered it.
This is one of the top two sushi places In midland. You have my word.
Try them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame in around 6 pm on a Saturday for dinner with the girlfriend. We sat at the sushi bar not at a table (most of the tables had families with small children, not the best to hear my particular lingo with swears and such). Wait staff seemed over loaded with a full on dinner rush in effect but food was quick regardless. Since we were at the bar the chefs were at our disposal and they were very nice and made sure to tell us that we should let them know if we wanted anything. Although they missed a tempura order and salad order we had annotated on the sushi list, the sushi itself was delicious. The rice is warm and sticky, all the flavors from the rolls were savory and delicious. Standard pickled ginger and wasabi on the side. Recommend the Midland roll, its not too spicy even with the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreYou can't beat the quality, service, and price at this place! I was very skeptical at first but when I finally tried their sushi I was very pleased š! I love how their menu has pictures of how their sushis actually look like and they are very accurate. The variety they have here is a lot better than the newer, more expensive Volcano Sushi right down the loop. This place needs a little bit of updating but it is still good for big crowds and family dinners. There is also rarely any wait during lunch time and their service is pretty fast. They also have a huge variety of menu items other than sushi like fried rice, appetizers, noodles, soups, and desserts! Make sure you try the fried cheesecake if you have room...
