My husband and I were very excited to try this establishment. We ordered the "sushi appetizer" from the menu, which contained "five pieces" sushi. We were told to choose the sushi we wanted. We chose two types of sushi roll and asked if that would be fine for the "five pieces Ashley, our server said "No we must pick five types". We picked 3 more and ordered our entrées. When the appetizer came out it was massive so I inquired about this being the appetizer and she assured us it was. We canceled our entrée orders since the appetizer turned out so large. When she brought us our bill I noticed that she had charged us for five full orders of sushi instead of the appetizer, when I asked for another person to explain the bill, Ashley stated that is what I ordered. I of course said no and she knew that because she made us choose 5 types instead of just the 2 because the appetizer had 5 rolls. She and the other server then started to argue with me that I was crazy and I ordered 5 full rolls. To which I replied why would we order entrées if we wanted 5 full rolls and if we were ordering full rolls why would we be forced to choose 5 types instead of just the 2 we asked for originally. She called me names again and refused to discount the bill stating that my husband and I were lying. Do not go there they will rob you. I ended up paying $82 for sushi I did not want. Received no apology from any person on staff. I was yelled at and called names. Becuase I have worked as a server for many years and I am now a manager of a restaurant/bar, I am always very patient an understanding to restaurant workers. I would be appalled if any of my staff acted this way. I feel like I was stolen from and that they are a dishonest business....
Read moreThis business should be ashamed of itself. I severed honerably for several years in the military which ended with a medical retirement. The results of which I now have a service animal prescribed to me by my MD. I was refused service and the employees ran around as if it was their first time seeing a dog. It was a true embarrassment, these are the most ignorant people I have ever come across. I strongly urge you to avoid this place, especially since no one speaks English and can’t even insult you properly. I will be seeking counsel as this matter will be pursed. House Bill 489 clearly states the laws for service animals and a business that ignores the law should not be allowed to be in business.
Correction: I replied it is not my problem you are scared of the dog, and this business refused to let me be seated. Not being allowed to be seated is the definition of being refused service. Telling someone I will only take your order if you go is something that was done in the 1950s. Claiming you didn’t know it was a service dog when he’s wearing a bring red service dog vest is simple ignorance. This was discrimination of a disabled citizen at its finest. Thank you for...
Read moreWhere do I begin… Sumo has been our hidden little gem. We have been for both the hibachi and for a regular table. Several times. The food we have ordered has never been less than delightful and delicious. Sumo is where we go because the service is outstanding (thank you staff) and regardless if you eat sushi or hibachi it will NEVER be mediocre. But on a personal note the sushi is so good our preteen daughter can not get enough of the rainbow roll and sashimi. We have been there on date nights, after the loss of a family member and just want to be quietly served, with a kiddo (they have been so generous with our daughter), fast service if needed, in a cozy booth if you want to linger, learning to catch a small piece of zucchini from the hibachi chef… The hibachi filet and noodles are tooo die for. Lastly, did I mention the wait staff?? They are awesome! Thank you Sumo for being our Cheers! I’ll take photos the next time. Sorry the food never stays long enough to...
