Didn't like the time spent. Course has no guidance to follow. Workers were unfriendly and a bit rude. NO Snack shack or place to quickly get food at the turn from 9-18. UGA Pass is basically useless, even Soldier Hollow provides better accommodation for you. This place has its head shoved so far up its own backside it can't see how mediocre and pointless this course is.
Wasn't worth the time. I've played there in the past many times, for free, and the course wasn't bad. I went recently and the whole area is under construction and was completely customer unfriendly. There is nothing to guide to the where the proshop is. It takes several minutes to walk from the parking lot to it anyhow. You pay to get a cart and they have you walk all the way back out to the parking lot to get a cart the drive all the way back to the Proshop to start hole 1. It took 20 minutes from parking to just get loaded and get to hole 1. First 9 holes were fine, there are some houses built around, but thats fine, not smart, but whatever. Its not a hard course. At hole 9 it was midday and needed a drink, so at the turn we went to ask about a snack shack that might be near by. There isn't one. Just a stupid restaurant you have to sit at. So unless you bring your own food and drink you'll be unhappy to golf here. After that it took 10 min to find hole 10 cause the path way is blocked by fences and not marked at all, so unless you frequent the course, you'll not find it without having to ask someone. The whole course is like this. The employees were not friendly, rude, and just talk to you like you were inconvenient for their day. They don't help you understand simple questions and respond in simple 1-3 word answers.
Overall the place was a bad experience and they can make the place into whatever overpriced resort they want, I will never go...
Read moreHomestead Golf Course has always been a favorite of mine, but I was particularly impressed with the recent changes during my last visit. The new owners have clearly invested a lot of time and effort into revitalizing the course, and it shows.
This time around, I only had time to play the front nine, but even in that short span, the improvements were evident. The fairways were in excellent shape, with lush grass that made for a smooth and enjoyable round. The greens were just as impressive, rolling true and fast, reflecting the care and attention the new management has been putting into the course’s upkeep.
One of the highlights of this visit was the pace of play. Sometimes, you can find yourself stuck behind slower groups, but that wasn’t the case here. The flow of the game was perfect, allowing me to really savor each hole without feeling rushed or held up.
Overall, it’s exciting to see the direction the Homestead Golf Course is heading under its new ownership. The front nine left me eager to return and play the full 18, knowing that the course is in such great hands. Whether you’re a regular or a first-timer, it’s definitely worth...
Read moreTruly an awful experience twice in a row now so done with this place. Showed up 45 mins early to hit some balls only to be lied to - said the range was closed but later they said it was only open for season pass holders. So we sat around at the saddest excuse for a practice area for our scheduled time. Then, breakfast cart (the only food place) was closed at 9:30am but she was in there so served us some stuff before our round started. At the turn, she was closed so zero places to get a sandwich or Gatorade - lame. When I asked in the pro shop, I was told that they don’t operate the food stand and when I asked the starter was told the same thing. I really can’t understand how no one can claim any responsibility! That’s pathetic. We did finally see a cart person on the course but she had no ice and one sandwich. This is the lamest excuse for a course and whoever manages it should go back to whatever job they are good at. I used to like this course but now after a few terrible experiences in a row it’s clear that they really couldn’t care at all about their...
