Around Milwaukee | Top 10 Hidden Gem Parks! Personally Tested!! Absolutely Stunning!!!

Humboldt Park has it all: miles of paved walking and running trails, a stocked fishing pond, a baseball diamond, a wading pond, lots of mature shade trees, two playgrounds, a gazebo, a pavilion for rent, tennis courts, a beer garden, and its band shell serves as a venue for concerts, performances, and, of course, Chill on the Hill. In the winter, enjoy the hill for sledding and tubing. You just can't be bored here! Ifyou haven't been to Humboldt Park, you're missing out. Any time of year, this is the place to be. Note: Be very, very mindful of where you park. Parking enforcement actively patrols parking and may just ruin that nice buzz.

Beautiful, serene and infinitely more then it seems. A place where live concerts happen. Where there is a beautiful marble monument in commemoration of those who passed in WW1. Where you can see turtles, cranes and ducks waddle about. Where you can fish or on the same dock see the raindrops hit the water be transported to a painting by Monet. Where at night u can see teens practice skateboarding and messing around with there peers. Where countless dogs and family play, learn and live. Some parks are simple affairs like the dull wings of a moth others are vibrant and alive like a Morphinae.

As Humboldt is our local park, we're here pretty constantly over the spring, summer, and even fall. The Bay View Neighborhood Assoc. does a fantastic job of organizing activities for the community, and it's really become a gem in the Milwaukee Park System.

I think our favorite annual event would have to be Chill on the Hill, where bands come out one night a week over the summer and you have a great outdoor concert atmosphere.

We also enjoy the Craft Beer Garden, sponsored by St. Francis Brewery. They not only offer their own brews, but the craft brews of others all summer long.

I ding a star only because, as a public park, there are those that think that means they can do whatever they want there. While the Beer Garden has a great, family vibe, it does not deter the heavy drinking crowd from making a scene every now and then nearby the Garden.

Also, after big events, visitors could do a much better job of cleaning up after themselves. We've been part of volunteer clean-up crews here and there, and it can be pretty shameful.

Overall a wonderful park in a great...

Humboldt Park is in away the center of the Milwaukee community of Bay View. The park is large historic park that comes alive in the summer. When late spring rolls around the Beer Garden opens around noon every day and closes around 9pm. There is a great playground in which Bay Views growing number of families take their children. There is a baseball field and plenty of walking trails. Humboldt Park hosts a summer concert series that is suitable for the whole family called "Chill On The Hill" which runs from late May to Late August. Humboldt also hosts a Bocce tournament and the communities 4th of July Celebration with a large...
