Very nice clean park down by the lake went here for a soccer game Little League and it was a great time afterwards there was a very nice park for the children to play with lots of climbing and spinny toys for them to enjoy also has open bathrooms for the boys and girls men and women and it was very clean and did not smell at all which is also a plus as we all know. We stayed at the park for about an hour after the game and probably would have stayed longer but of course there's always a bad apple there were some women with their children having a barbecue which is great but once they entered the Park area where the children were playing I didn't agree with them smoking and using profanity around the children some people just don't get it so we had to leave a little early but outside of that which is hit or miss it's really a lovely park to go and enjoy don't get me wrong about the people I'm sure they didn't even realize they were doing anything wrong and maybe it's not wrong maybe it's just me but I don't feel that drinking and smoking of any kind should be around children when they're just trying to have fun. Thanks for your time I hope you enjoy yourself if you do go my name...
Read moreWalking through this large (138-acres) and lovely park, a jewel of the Milwaukee County Parks system, on the first of our weekly walks, with my friend and long-time nearby resident, I could say I knew this was one of 3 Milwaukee County parks designed by Frederick Law Olmstead who also designed New York City's Central Park. This is called the Frederick Law Olmstead's Poets Walk that meanders for over 4 miles and connects Newberry Blvd to Riverside Park also designed by Olmstead, along with Humboldt Park. The park is well maintained and attracts plenty of visitors, walkers, cyclists, nature lovers, picnickers, golfers, joggers. Evidence has shown that walking in nature reduces stress and instills in us a sense of calmness and I walk in nature as...

Not only did Olmsted, the same man who designed Central Park, design this place, but a vibrant modern day every flows through here too.
It’s the perfect date spot: have a picnic on a hillside overlooking the lake/beach, pitch up a hammock.
Play a sport: golf course, 4 tennis courts, pull up bar, and plenty of wide open fields.
Take the kids: playground on the NE side of the park. Around there, you’ll find multiple small trails to hike too.
There are also many walking trails throughout. Great for running or just going for a stroll. Stop by historic downer ave (3 blocks to East) for a coffee, drink, or bite as well. You have Stone Creek Coffee, Pizza Man, Henry’s, Sendiks, and more over there.
Bathrooms are by the playground to the North.
Lake park is THE park in my...
