I've been in Milwaukee now two years, and there is a pretty fierce debate about who had the best coffee- Anodyne, Valentine, Collectivo- and all of the above are indeed fantastic. That being said- Stone Creek has and always will be my first choice- I discovered Radio Milwaukee before my move- and you can't listen for long without hearing about Stone Creek so admittedly I was excited to try it before even moving here. Man, I was not disappointed. Their passion and emphasis on the science behind the perfect cup, does indeed show in their flavors. They have a friendly and eclectic staff- and for the non coffee drinkers they have a great selection of local wine and beer. AND NOW THEY HAVE A CAFE! I'm lucky to be within a quick bike ride to the cafe on Downer- and I could not be more excited it's in my neighborhood! It's truly a gorgeous space with plenty of indoor/outdoor space to suit anyone's desires. ALSO THERE IS A WALK UP COFFEE WINDOW- can this get any better?? Pretty much because they have delicious food now! I would have posted a photo of my breakfast sandwich but it didn't last very long- All in all- 10/10. I'm drinking the cold...
Read moreReceived nothing but the best here. It's a high-end coffee shop without arrogance. It's also absent of the corporate cafe phoniness, or the hipster grunge of other local shops. Customer service was awesome. All three women behind the counter served me with eye contact, a smile, a thank you, and a "have a lovely day." They even brought the to-go order directly out to me while I sat as opposed to plopping it on the counter and bouncing. The place was spotless and there's a ton of space. My Boston Latte, which, to my knowledge, is not served anywhere else in the Milwaukee area, was ready in a timely manner and was the perfect temperature. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese sandwich and it's definitely a high-end take on a greasy fast food item. The arugula and green onions add an extra pop to the savory flavors of the base ingredients while the brioche bun was soaked in butter for that "greasy" feel. Yes, it was greasy but I knew what the grease was and it was deeeeelicious. I couldn't have asked for anything more from my experience. I will be back and I can't wait to have the...
Read moreWhat's even better than Stone Creek Coffee? A new Stone Creek Coffee that opened one block from my girlfriend's house. And has food. Two large rooms with perhaps two dozen tables total of various sizes and a small bar at the window looking out over Downer. (Where a bike race was zooming by on the June 30 morning I was there.) Many of the chairs are a bit low for the table height. There's a large patio with tables too. Lots of outlets. Wi-Fi with same password as other Stone Creek locations. Didn't notice the audio. They have (like the other Stone Creek locations) a small select of good quality loose leaf teas, though their loose leaf chai is a "chocolate chai" I don't think much of. They chai lattes are from the Chai Company, and are too sweet, but less bad than some. Magnificent array of pastries and, at this location now, a small menu of breakfast and lunch things. The lemon pistachio...
