Lovely Wisconsin Historical Society site. It's a Cornish mining settlement from the 1800s (one of the mines is across the street and you can walk the trails). In the 1930s two men bought and preserved many of the buildings. Admission price gets you a guided tour..ours lasted about 45 minutes. There are a couple buildings you can visit on your own. Nice little gift shop as well. Bottled water is available to purchase and there is a drinking fountain by the restrooms too. Parking area is in a lot kitty corner to the site. The whole Mineral Point area is rich with history and there are so many beautiful historic buildings.

We found the tour by our two guides very informative and took about an hour. The original buildings are very historic and unique. The guides provided background on the buildings, local history and mining. Two buildings up the hill are open (not guided) and also interesting.

Well worth the $10 admission. Our guide told us wonderful stories of the area and historical buildings for an hour while going in and out of several historic buildings.

Being from Mineral Point, I can sometimes take the Pendarvis for granted, but it truly is a hidden gem! If you're visiting the area, you absolutely must take a tour and immerse yourself in the rich history that this site has to offer.

Pendarvis beautifully showcases the story of our town, highlighting the impact of Cornish immigrants who settled here during the lead mining boom. The dedicated staff does a fantastic job of sharing this history with visitors, making it engaging and informative.

Take some time to explore Pendarvis—you won't be disappointed! It's a wonderful way to connect with the past and appreciate the heritage of...

We visited on a Saturday in Sept 2022. The buildings are amazing! Made by the miners and masons in the area, and later restored by two visionary men, they are now open for visitors. The stonework is beautiful, and the upper buildings are rustic and historic. We were the only two folks on our tour, which was led by a friendly, personable, and knowledgeable young man -- he loved history and it really showed thru! Mineral Point has lot of other stuff to do, but this was the highlight for us. We are members of the Wisconsin State Historical Society, so admission was free. ...
