Nail Ninja Northeast — Attraction in Minneapolis

I just wanted to leave a review so people don’t go and end up as surprised as I was. The pricing for nail removal is too high. $50 for a 15 minute service equals $200 an hour. I have a hard time understanding that cost justification. They don’t carry OPI or DND, which I thought was standard so I came with colors in mind for my wedding nails, but that’s fine - I trusted they’d be able to help me find a good color with the brand they carry. However, they are booked so tightly I can’t imagine they’d have time for a color consult even for special occasions. The reason I say they are booked too tightly is because I didn’t know chrome was considered “nail art”, which is totally my fault for booking wrong as I thought nail art was things like french or designs. When I asked to add the service, happily paying the upcharge, I was told it was impossible given the time constraint. Since this was a trial for my wedding nails, and the wedding is less than a month away, I didn’t want to change the design to something I knew I ultimately didn’t want. They chose to cancel the appointment, and if they’re scheduled so tightly that they have to cancel as opposed to adding the 5 minute service, or even having another available artist add the chrome at the end, I don’t trust they would’ve taken their time to ensure I find the best base nail color, or if they did, then the painting afterwards would be a rush job.

I’ve never posted a negative review before, I was just disappointed in the way it was handled and that I paid $58 to leave with scratched up nail beds. If you are going in just to get your nails done for fun, I’m sure they’re fine, but if you’re planning on getting nails done for a special occasion and are hoping to take your time on a consult with the nail tech, I’d highly recommend...

I first visited Nail Ninja in the fall of 2024, booking two back-to-back appointments for important life events (getting engaged and my 30th birthday trip to Europe). Unfortunately, both appointments were canceled last-minute due to issues on their end, and the rebooking options they offered were several weeks out and didn’t fit my schedule. I initially left a review expressing my frustration, and they did reach out afterward to offer an earlier appointment. I appreciated the effort to make things right and removed my original review.

Fast forward 4–6 months of being a regular customer, I had a work emergency that made me late for an appointment. I called at the time of my appointment to explain the situation and let them know I was on my way. They informed me that being 15 minutes late meant they couldn’t accommodate me and that I’d still be charged a cancellation fee for the full price of the appointment for $95. I asked if they could waive the fee as a one-time courtesy, especially since I called in advance, but they declined. This was the final straw.

While the nail technicians themselves are talented and well-trained, the scheduling policies and overall customer service are extremely rigid and lack flexibility or empathy especially for a modern consumer. I’ve since found another salon that offers the same quality gel builder service for half the price—and with exceptional customer...

I had such a great first experience at Nail Ninja! I called to book a gel manicure and gel pedicure over the phone and despite their busy schedule, Brianna was able to get me both appointments on a Saturday. My gel mani was with Alex and she did an amazing job! She was fun to talk to and took her time shaping and cleaning up my nails and cuticles. She picked out a sheer pink that I would have never picked myself but I love it! My gel pedi was with Shaela and it was also a great experience. She was also great to talk to and gave me some ideas on some new restaurants and things to do since I'm new to the area. Shaela also took her time and even suggested a fun pink color for my toes that I would have never thought of myself (we had been just talking about seeing the Barbie movie) and I also love it. I cannot stop staring at my mani and pedi- that's how you know the experience is phenomenal! The salon is so clean and well kept with a cute interior and decor. The prices are on par with most nail salons, maybe slightly higher- but 100% worth it for the quality of the services! Will definitely make this my regular nail spot here in...
