Altered Skin Tattoo & Body Piercing — Attraction in Missoula

On November 26th My Wife And I Traveling From Billings To Visit Family Decided To Stop At Altered, We Have Used This Shop Before, (For Tattoo’s Where It Was Good Service And Fair Pricing.) However This Time She Just Wanted A New Piece Of Jewelry For Her Ear… (The Silver Piece In The Middle Ear In Picture.) She Picked It Out Asking The Attendent For Pricing Because The Jewelry Wasnt Price Labeled.. Or If There Was Any Sales, When We Where Told No That Only Piercings Would Be On Sale Today! Then The Attendant Strayed Off Topic Saying Would You Like Help Putting The Jewelry In.. Looking Back I See The “Scheme” Now Because It Got Us Off The Topic Of Price And Honestly Seemed Like She Was Trying To Be Nice! So After The Help By The Piercer Who Bashed Another Business Where We Are From Because We Didnt Get The Piercing Done There.? My Wife Came Out Instantly Unhappy Stating She Didnt Like The Jewelry. They Then Proceeded To Say Thats 50$ For The 1 Piece Of Cubic Zarconia Jewelry And We Were Baffled. My Wife Instantly Stated Why Didnt You Tell Me The Price When I Asked I Would Never Pay 50$ For One Piece Of Earring Jewelry. The Attendant Said We Wont Take It Back Because Its In Your Ear. Going Back To What I Said Earlier About The Scheme, That’s When I Realized What Happened, She Acted Nice, “Offering Help” To Get Us Of The Topic Of Price, While At The Same Time “Secretly” Locking Us Into Buying The Dainty/Cheap OVERPRICED Jewelry. And I Know This Is What Happened Because The Whole Time My Wife Was Being Helped, The Attendant Was Relentlessly Asking Me If I Was Gonna Be Pierced, Not Even Allowing Me Time To Think If I Wanted To Make A Decision To Get Pierced By Myself. So If I Where To Recommend Anyone For A Piercing/Body Modification.. I Would Highly Recommend AGAINST Using This Shop. I Feel Highly Taken Advantage Of. As Well As I Feel Like They Use Unethical Tactics Of Point-Of-Sale. I Believe They Should Label There Jewelry Pricing More Accurately/Honestly Along With Honestly Answering Customers Questions, And Stop Doing Whatever You Have To, Too Secure A Sale Or Business From Any Customer. I Understand Times Are Hard For Brick And Mortars And Prices Are Going Up Globally But Taking Advantage Of Valuable Customers And There Hard Earned Dollars Is Highly Frowned Upon In My Book. I was pierced by Millz on October 18th with my best friend, I had my bridge done and he had his vertical labret. We had such a wonderful experience !!

I had been wanting this piercing in particular for a long time now, and I couldn’t have asked for a better piercer to do it for me. Millz was swift, gentle, knowledgeable, and extremely precise, not wanting to pierce until they were absolutely certain on placement and made sure I was as well as any good piercer should. I was done just as quickly as I had gotten in the chair making for a very efficient appointment which I always appreciate :) I’d heard rumors that Millz was considered the best of the best in Missoula, Montana for body piercers and I think I believe those rumors !! My experience was wonderful and they were so sweet, even doing their best not to mess up my makeup too much (lol).

The initial piercing itself was basically painless and I’ve experienced absolutely no issues, hardly any swelling, and hardly any other issues so far and it’s only a few days old !! Considering making a special trip to Missoula one of these days JUST to be pierced by Millz again !!

And, everyone at Altered was so nice and funny as well. Always a bonus when the counter staff is just as awesome as the artists and body mod experts. Even more of a bonus that they had great tunes playing while we waited and while we got pierced😎🎶...

So I've been using altered skin for several years, over 10 and I will not go back. All of my kids have had tattoos done by Dave I've had tattoos by Dave his wife has pierced my girls and I really didn't even think twice when my six-year-old granddaughter wanted her ears pierced as to where we would go, I knew we were going to altered skin cause that's where we've always gone. But upon arrival I'm looking at the earrings and I was told $70 for these and a 140 for the flat pack I told the guy at the desk I wanted to go with the $70 ones because I have several kids they all have their ears pierced doesn't seem to be a problem so why not go with regular, then the piercer comes out and says I suggest to flat back and I said yeah I think I'm just going to go with the $70 ones that's kind of outrageous for earrings, and she rolls her eyes shakes her head and goes back into her office. (I mean if they were something you loved and really wanted yes of course but these are temporary) so anyways we left very poor service. Will not recommend and will never go back.
