Maria is a GODDESS. Literally. An angel. God sent. 5 stars = understatement. Words can't explain or describe her level of professionalism and the exemplary service she provided. She put serious work into my dress, and made it fit like a glove. She took the sides and back in to give me an hourglass shape, added tulle for volume, created the plunging sweetheart neckline (chef's kiss), tacked the layers, bustled the dress in a simple way (which saved time on the wedding day), and created buttons for me to switch sleeves when I changed from my ceremony look to my reception look.

My former tailor ruined my dress, so I had to find and buy a new one weeks before my wedding + find a tailor. Exasperated, I was recommended to Maria Lady K Tailors, and she was the greatest God-sent blessing. Whereas other tailors turned me away because of timing or I turned away tailors because I was uncomfortable working with them, Maria immediately welcomed me, and expertly worked with me and my panicked timeline. She was so friendly, patient, understanding, reasonable, fair, generous, transparent, and honest - all things I needed as things got hectic before my wedding date. She brought invaluable peace and relief. I actually looked forward to going to her shop so I could see her.

Not to mention, she and her team are AMAZING at what they do - she is an actual globally-trained designer with top-notch skill in fashion and sewing. I came to her shop discouraged, downtrodden, dreams destroyed, and feeling like I was settling because I was out of options and a tired bride. But she helped me in a way that gave me excitement about my new dress, making my visions for the dress a reality, and my dream of being a smiling bride when I walked down the aisle come true. My husband cried when he saw me. She did much more than alter my dress, she altered my LIFE because she transformed me, my dress, and my situation for one of the most important days of my life. I can look back on my pictures and be happy because of her. No exaggeration. She even is honest enough to let you know if what you want to do is a waste of money, won't work, or not a good idea, so you are collaborating and working together (if you choose to do that, or you can just let her do her thing, but I was a hands-on type of bride).

Bottomline, it is SO good to know there are still good people and vendors out here who work hard, are passionate about what they do, and genuinely care about their clients. As for her shop itself, it is clean and well-organized, which I don't take for granted because I went to several alterations shops that were messy, junky, only had curtains for you to change behind, unorganized, and chaotic. Not Lady K's at ALL.

All in all, Maria goes above and beyond, goes two extra miles not just one, and I have recommended EVERYONE I know to go to her no matter how far the drive. DO NOT HESITATE at all. Go to...

I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding service provided by Ms. Maria. I ordered ballet costume online for my daughter to attend competitions. When we received the costume, it is obvious that the sleeves were too short and lacked coverage for the armpits, presenting a significant concern for my daughter's performances.

Upon discussing this issue with Ms. Maria, she proposed a thoughtful solution. While initially considering adding chiffon to extend the sleeves, she recognized that it would compromise the integrity of the costume's design due to its intricate decorations and elastic bands. Instead, Ms. Maria took the initiative to create entirely new sleeves for the costume.

The result was nothing short of amazing. The new sleeves seamlessly integrated with the costume, appearing as if they were originally made with it. Not only did they provide the necessary coverage for my daughter's arms and armpits, but they also enhanced the overall aesthetic of the costume. I cannot recommend Ms. Maria's services highly enough. Her ability to solve complex tailoring challenges with skill and finesse is truly remarkable. (She also helped us with our second ballet costume which needs more precision tailoring. This particular costume required more intricate alterations, ranging from adjustments to the silhouette to repositioning the hooks and ensuring the perfect placement of the tutu).

I have a Hart Shaffner Marx overcoat, which has a removable, insulated, inner liner shell that is connected to the outer coat via a 68 inch separating zipper. This overcoat is at least 10 years old. I went to Lady K Tailors to get the separating zipper that attaches the inner liner shell to the outer overcoat repaired because it broke and would not zip up all the way anymore. Maria was great throughout the entire process.

Initially, Maria took a look at the repair and gave me a quote for price and a lead time. But, because the 68 inch zipper is not a common size, the first step was to find a new zipper. Maria said that either she could procure the zipper herself or if I wanted to shop around, I could procure the zipper if I wanted to find a zipper to my liking. I decided to shop around, and I found a high quality, heavy duty YKK zipper for about $17. Then, I brought the zipper and my coat, and Maria quoted me a 5 day turn-around time. I didn't need this jacket repaired urgently, but a 5 day turn-around was impressive to me.

Overall, I was quite pleased by the quality of Maria's work. The cost of her repair was way more affordable than buying a new jacket, and her repair gave more life to my jacket. I highly recommend her service for repairs...
