If you are big into architecture or early American history, this is must stop. This gem has been preserved and decorated with time appropriately decor. Many families lived there, and there is lots of history. The grounds are packed with huge live oak trees, many of them over 200 years old. Our tour guide was great, very knowledgeable, and could tell she has a passion for what she does. The tour is priced well and was roughly an hour long.

Not my favorite, but still very interesting. This home was built around 1830 and was aquired by the city of mobile in the 1950's. Not a lot of original artifacts inside the home. The city of mobile has stocked the house with plenty of antiques from the 1800's though. A clock made in London on the second floor is the oldest antique in the home. Lots of photos, oil paintings and lots to read. The historian tour guide was very helpful.

Very charming old house with lots of history! But it's not a plantation. No matter what Google tells you. We traveled all the way up from Ft Morgan to see a plantation and was pretty bummed to learn it's not associated at all with plantations. But it is a beautiful antebellum home and the tour guide was very knowledgeable.

Went to Oakleigh House for a school project. It is so beautiful. The tour is very educational and fascinating. Enjoyed learning the history of the house and the time period. The grounds have an oak tree that is 300 years old as well as some of the prettiest Camellias that I have ever seen.

Coming here was a wonderful experience. I would like to clarify that this wasn't a plantation home like we were wanting to see. However, our tour guide was friendly, funny, and very informative. The house was beautiful, and it would make a great stop on any road trip.

Excellent place to visit and get a little into history. The property is stunning and the tour is worth it. The guides have pretty good knowledge about the place itself and also about this one in the history of Mobile. A house built in 1833, has a lot to say!
