In regards to the estate sale in Chicago Heights’ conducted by Cait’s on 4/6/2018. Something here was not right or fair to others that came a distance in hopes to have a chance at the 800 – 1000 blues/jazz record collection advertised. Not only the mass quantity of vinyl but the Carver stereo equipment and speakers as well. We pulled up noticing a U-Haul van directly parked in front of the house. There were about 12 people standing outside the home including my wife and I who were number 8 or 9 on the list waiting to enter. Around 20 minutes to 9.00 a.m. about 6 people came out of the U-Haul van and went directly to the front door. They were first to enter. But here’s the thing… Immediately they came out of the house with milk crates filled with vinyl records. Keep in mind the advertisement photos clearly showed those vinyl records on shelves located in the basement. It would have been impossible for those people to fill milk crates within a few seconds and carry them to the van. To top it off those people never came in with milk crates. Those vinyl records were pre-packed and ready to go. It was obvious those people were let in very early to pre-pack their wants before anyone else got there. The estate sale advertisement clearly stated 9:00 a.m. (in order) of the sign in sheet. This was not fair or was this supposed to happen. One woman on the outside was yelling false advertisement while others who came left disgusted. When I entered the same people were dismantling the stereo components from inside the stereo cabinet which took time to do because of the mass amount of cables. As a collector of vinyl records and having a good knowledge on stereo equipment I would put a value on all those (used) Blues/Jazz vinyl records at about $5000.00 plus and the Carver stereo equipment around at around $1500.00. There were a great amount of Blues/Jazz compact disks too totaling around $1000.00 or more. Then add the JBL. Speakers at around $250.00 a piece (used) and all High end cables at about $400.00. Last but not least… I’m not one to judge people but the people who retrieved all these items certainly didn’t appear to hold 6 – 8 grand in their pockets to spend on records and stereo items. I’m calling the whole estate sale a foul ball. Never the less I’d like to hear an explanation from Cait’s who conducted this estate sale why...
Read moreI cannot express enough gratitude for the entire team at Cait's Estate Sale & Emporium. From start to finish, their level of care, professionalism, and support was truly extraordinary. I was completely overwhelmed after the sudden passing of my mother, in the middle of selling our home of 25 years, all while going through a divorce. I had no idea how I would manage sorting through a house filled with belongings since 1983.
When George came to do the initial walk-through, I immediately felt a weight lifted off my shoulders. He explained the process with such care and clarity, and I knew I was in good hands. By the time I signed the contract, I literally cried tears of relief and joy. From that moment on, the Cait's team was a constant source of support and compassion.
Debbie was my main point of contact throughout, and she was always quick to respond and so patient. Liz, Tina, Delores and the rest of the incredible team worked tirelessly to sort through every item in the house, transforming it into a beautiful display that felt like walking through a curated store. Their attention to detail and dedication to making everything perfect was beyond impressive.
The entire process, from the initial appointment to the clean-out service, was handled with such excellence and heart. Cait's Estate Sale & Emporium provided me with a service I desperately needed at one of the most difficult times of my life, and they did it with pure kindness, professionalism, and love.
I am so deeply grateful to George, Debbie, Liz, Tina, Delores and the entire team for everything they did. I cannot recommend Cait's Estate Sale & Emporium enough—they are truly the best at what they do, and I will forever appreciate the incredible work and support...
Read moreWe were NOT pleased with the experience of the estate sale run by Cait's Estates. We had chosen them based on their estate sales that we had attended along with their ability to consign unsold items. In our initial consultation, George told us an approximate number of hours needed to set up the sale and that at the conclusion of the sale they would evaluate what unsold items could be taken for consignment. After that consultation, nearly all other communications were initiated by us. We had to go FIND the link to the sale ourselves to share with our contacts.
While the people doing the pricing were very kind and did a nice job laying out the sale, we found multiple items with no price going into the day of the sale. Then on the day of the sale, we found the sale going on with NO yard signs or street signs posted indicating an estate sale was even happening and had to call and get that corrected ourselves. Upon completion of the sale, it took over two full weeks for the results of the sale to be communicated to us, and even then, it was only through snail mail even though ALL other communication had come through email. It was then we learned the pre-sale set up costs came in about 60% higher than had been estimated to us during our consultation with George and there was never any indication that anything was even considered for consignment. Overall, communication from the company was extremely poor in nearly every regard. We do not...
