Rascals/Rascals Live is honestly the only place I would want to see a big name band in the QC! Rascals live has that intimate bar feeling yet holds a nice size crowd and with the bands they get in there (some of the best bands I have ever seen play at a local bar) you are up close and personal with the band! No matter where your seat is or where you stand in the place, you are up close and in the action. Minimal fees to see very popular bands too. You can pay $100 or more to sit in a huge arena and look at a spec on a stage from the nosebleeds or pay very little to sit up close and personal. Sound system is one of the best I have heard in a bar in the Q.C too! Bartenders are friendly, and fast and know exactly what they are doing. Security is always making sure the place is safe as well, though I have never seen a problem at Rascals/Rascals Live. Rascals side is a memorbilia bar and you can relax on that side or if you prefer a louder, live band scene just go to Rascals Live side. They have a lot of local talent as well on weekend nights. Just a very friendly, fun atmosphere and just about the only bar I honestly care...
Read moreThis place has an online box office, but doesn't state the age limit. It is 21+ And they act like it's common sense, but it's not for someone who ISN'T from Moline or familiar with this particular bar. In Mattoon, IL there are bars you can get into under 21 on certain nights or events. Seeing how there is nothing on the site about age I assumed all ages were permitted on show nights. It should be displayed on the site as most do. I've been buying concert tickets for years and this is the first time I've run into this issue. Waste of gas, time and hotel thanks to inadequate info. I was given a refund for the ticket, but shorted $4.50.
EDIT: I wrote this in 2014, so not sure why I'm getting a response now, but no, it was certainly not "overlooked" you may state the ages on your website now, but you sure didn't four years ago. I remember directly E-mailing rascals inquiring about their age limit because it was nowhere to be found on the site at the time, and I was met with no response. I'm glad you make the age requirements known now, and I hope you have a new bouncer...
Read moreI visited Rascals Live to see Great White and the Brandon Gibbs Band perform and I was blown away. I write about music, I see shows as often as people go to work, in 2015 I saw 157 bands and Rascals Live is going to be a venue I visit as much as possible. I was very impressed by the staff at Rascals, they were helpful, beyond cordial and friendly. Everything I saw about the facility was great, and when I asked questions about what many might consider strange (like how many people it holds) I was given an answer even to the point where they found me to give me the answer. Looking at the acts that have performed at Rascals it is very impressive. The staff and venue itself is incredible, we will be back. Keep up the...
