Desert Island Video Games — Attraction in Monterey Park

I was referred here by a local repair shop in my city when they couldn't get a stripped screw out on my Nintendo Switch's Joy Con. I dropped off my Joy Con on Saturday, and the owner of the store was super open, friendly, and honest! He was very cordial and mentioned that he'll be very gentle with repairs because the case is easily scratched; however, that depends on how bad the screw is. Totally understandable and really appreciate he communicated that to me in the beginning. He gave me a call back the next day and said that he got the screw out, but the casing was slightly damaged, albeit not severely and wasn't that bad, but can no longer hold the screw (it seemed like the case had to be pried open due to how tight the screw was inside). Regardless, he said the repair is free because of the damage and even offered to buy me a new one if I was unsatisfied. I didn't mind the damage, honestly, and you can barely notice the damage unless you really, really looked at it. The friendliness and attitude he had was just off the charts. The gesture to even offer buying a completely new joycon shell for me was something I appreciated more than anything else. Tipped him for the service because the experience was just so amazing. Anyhow 12/10 place for repairs and service. Lots of old antique games here that you can't find anywhere else (unless you want to pay hundreds for them online if you can even find them). This is a gem in the city, and you can tell this store has an impeccable taste for video games. If you need video game repairs, or want to find old games that take you back into your childhood, THIS is the place to go. Will definitely come back for console...

This place saved my vacation. We were in CA for the holidays to visit Disney and Universal. On Friday, my autistic son's Nintendo Switch stopped charging. A meltdown insured, especially at the thought of not being able to recover his saved game progress. I had originally made an appointment for Sunday morning to go to a ubreakifix location in Anaheim close to where we were staying however when I arrived they quoted me $150 for just a charge port fix but the soldering tech did not come in. They gave me phone numbers to other locations, but none of them could provide a same day fix, and we were set to fly back to TX on Monday. In a panic, I googled every combination of "video games repair" and "switch repair" i could think of and came across this store. When I called the gentleman who answered assured me he could get it fixed the same day but it might take some time, I didn't care how long it took as long as it was fixed that day so I sped off to see him. The price was great, much lower than the ubreakifix quote, and he even got the repair done in 2 hours, much shorter than the original timeframe he gave over the phone. We were even able to find some older games my husband has been looking for. We left with a fixed switch and 3 new games. Soo my little one was having an issue with his Nintendo Switch. I had to search for this particular business because I have used them before for my sons Wii U about a year ago. They were absolutely awesome! Very honest, helpful, and affordable. I refuse to go any where else. I feel like this is a small business that really cares and does they’re best to help! I was greeted kindly and the owner actually remembered me from the previous year. He took his time and was able to repair my problem in no time.
