For any who are interested in taking a Texas History road trip, I highly encourage y'all not to miss Historic Montgomery. Although Fernland Historical Park is sitting on land that is donated, and preserved by the historical society, Fernland Historical Park contains homes that are restored by Mr. And Mrs. Carroll Tharp, to be located and displayed for all to visit, in Fernland Historical Park. Not only does Fernland Historical Park serve as an ability to step back in time, this park is a great place to take photos. There's a tranquil path to visit red eared slider turtles, this path will also lead the way to the water conservatory, a library, and a park....come on to Historic Montgomery, it's...

Great location and incredible reconstruction of Sam Houston's original hunting lodge, located on the north shore area of Lake Conroe. The lodge was removed , peg by peg, from its location prior to the lake being filled, in order to preserve its historic relevance, by Sam Houston State University Architectect, Thorp (from historic records). He in turn relocated the structures to his property and named it "Fernland", off Honea Egypt RD and opened it to the public. The property was willed to Sam Houston State University that in turn issued it to its current location and is open to the public. The new location is much more accessible and convenient, allowing many interested parties the...

First time visiting this park. I recommend coming here so you can learn about the history of Texas. This park is located in the city of Montgomery, which was founded in 1837. In addition, one can visit the antique shops, especially the store Texas & Beyond, located on Liberty Street. The entrance to visit the antique houses 🏘 is free and it closes at 3pm. I will come back on Dec 9, where there will be lots of crafts, parades, and activities for the whole family. Is from 9 to 7 pm. The candlelight tour is at 7 pm from 4 to 7. The entrance for the tour is $15 adults and children $5. Come and enjoy the gardens open...

I visit & donate to Fernland Historical Park and Memory Park at least every two months. The historical sight has very interesting Texas history. The park is well cared for by the city of Montgomery. Down the hill behind the historical cabins is Memory Park. You can feed fish or read books to your children that are provided right at the reading place under the trees, among the flowers. This is a very peaceful place to visit whether it is Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter. Our donations are used in a most delightful way! #montgomerytx #memorypark #fernlandhistoricalpark

In the midst of new suburb developments is a quaint reminder of how and why Texas became the lonestar state.. Beautifully preserved historic homes dating from the 1800 and 1900s, with amazing examples of how Texas's forefathers dealt with their struggles (as well as the tools they used to help them) make this an amazing exhibit worthy of your free time! Lastly, if you have the time, get the support staff to give you a "full" tour of all the houses.. It's definitely worth it!
