In July we went for my birthday. Instead of posting a bad review I contacted management to let them know our experience. Mama get was super nice and begged us to come back and “ let them take good care of us”. So we tried again- and the service was just as bad as the first.||||First visit- it was my birthday so I booked ahead for a nice romantic dinner. We were greeted right away and seated. The server explained she was new to the dinner time and would be having another person assist and we were introduced. We never saw that person again during the evening. Drinks took 20 minutes for one- a special drink they advertised, and 25 minutes for a vodka soda. The speciality drink tasted like lighter fluid and was really awful. I was told they hadn’t made it before.. what??? A special drink on the menu and bartender hasn’t made before? ||Too forever to get servers attention to order. When we got food it came out a WELL filet when ordered MR and the fish was over cooked. Tried and tried to find the server and couldn’t… when I went to the bathroom I found her. Sitting at a table eating … wow. ||We watched the staff sing happy birthday to another table meanwhile when I ordered dessert, it was just dropped at my table. And yes they knew it was my birthday as they said happy birthday at the hostess area when we walked in.||||After taking to the manager and being begged to give them another try we did. ||We arrived and hostess greeted welcoming us back and saying we hope you have a better Experience… so they KNEW.||||The server comes over and it’s the same lady I complained about!!! That alerted me immediately that the manager didn’t give darn about my bad experience before. We tried so bad to see if she would be better but it was worse. Hardly ever saw her. ||I ordered a aperol spritz and told my husband it tasted like a Shirley temple. Well they used sprite instead of Prosecco one to find out so it was kinda like a Shirley temple. Food took forever and was wrong - AGAIN as well as overcooked AGAIN!!!|| and the sweet hostess was trying so hard to greet people as well as do quality checks. After spending $250 the first time for dinner when we went before, the manager made it sound like they would take care of some of the bill if we returned. We were told they took care of a round of drinks. We paid and didn’t make an issue. Another dinner at Hodge Podge where we walked out spending quite a bit and felt so let down by the service. Manager I spoke with on the phone didn’t even come by the table.||That’s pathetic and the worst customer service ever.||||For these reasons we will not be back and will choose different...
Read moreMy husband and I made reservations to eat here on Valentine's, we couldn't believe they actually had any available when setting it up online. When we get there, the front desk couldn't find our reservation, come to find out we accidently made it for the 15th... The gentleman told us to take a seat, he would find a spot for us. It took a little bit of time, but he really could have told us there was no space for us and have a great night. We did eventually get a table in the bar area where he ended up being our server :). The 4 course meal was set for the night, but the options were all good (my husband and I are very picky, haha). For the appetizer I got a potato leek soup that was super yummy. My husband got the seafood fondue which I stole a few bites of, really good! We both got a Ceasar salad; they didn't skimp on the parmesan and the croutons were the best! My husband got the filet for the main course and he didn't even offer me a bite because he devoured it. I wouldn't have been able to eat a bite anyway because I was already getting way too full off of my Chilean Sea Bass! I decided to ask for a to go container so I would have some room for dessert. My husband and I usually share dessert, but with the menu set up we both got the chocolate strawberry shortcake. I was only able to eat half of it, and I was dying in the process! We knew portions would be smaller since there were more courses than we usually eat, but my husband and I both were groaning on the way to the car because we were so stuffed! It was worth it. We've been here several times and we always enjoy our experience. Tonight was great!...
Read moreIf there was a 10 star review available then I would be selecting that one!!! This place is absolutely charming and that's just for starters!! This restaurant was formerly a house and the floors are wooden and original. The service is impeccable and the menu is off the chain! I had the Crab Cake Benedict. It was incredible. I would not have thought of that dish to make on my own. The waitress was very informative on the menu items and quite cheerful, upbeat, and very polite. Rick the chef came by our table and greeted us. Rick is extremely knowledgeable in the restaurant industry. He worked for Papas for years and traveled the world. He created a recent new dish addition to the menu that is a chicken sandwich with sweet baby rays bbq sauce and perfectly grilled onions. You wear gloves to eat this one because it's so deliciously messy in a good way. 😊 We had an amazing experience at the hodge podge. They really know how to make an introduction and the food speaks for itself. We will be telling all of our friends about this unique hidden away diamond of a restaurant. I felt like I was swept away during my experience on a quick trip to New England while dining. So charming!! We will return. soon. We also met Jeff the owner and what a great personality he has. We made us feel us feel so welcome! What a beautiful property he has turned this place into. I can tell that he strives for customer satisfaction. We were pleasantly impressed with the entire experience. Thank you to hodge podge for treating your clientele so well!!! See you soon. So glad we happened upon your place for a hiking trip. 🤗 Many...
