Pros: affordable, timely, pedi massage Cons: tools, care
TLDR: improper care and drill use resulted in thin pliable damaged nails; sanitization of tools questionable
New to the area and wanted to try a salon near me. I checked out the reviews and decided to visit this salon. The reviews of previous guests & what was detailed by the salon when I called are misleading.
For my soak off they drilled off top layer and applied a product that would āpeel offā the gel (ok) while doing my pedicure. The pedicure was ok. The massage and callus removal was done well. The cutting and shaping not. A drill was used to remove cuticle and was haphazardly cut and shaped, leaving sharp uneven nails. I assumed the buffet and tools were new to me that were being used. They were not. The buffer had signs of use before and the pedicure after me ended up with the same cart and toolsā¦
The manicure. The gel that was supposed to be peeled off post product application was drilled down. The buffing to remove was done unevenly. The manicurist nicked my nails one too many times causing pain and switched to manual buffing. At completion some of my nails are left almost paper thin, pliable, and sharp. I opted to just get a clear coat and leave. The polish was applied unevenly and I had to ask for multiple nails to be repainted. The positive of the manicure was that my nails were cut to the correct length.
I donāt typically leave reviews, but for the fact that I have been struggling to scratch and put on jewelry & clothes properly because of the poor fragile state my nails are in, i have. So much was improperly buffed off that I can feel a tingle when water or other products come in contact with my nails. My nails feel as sharp as baby nails. My nails are naturally very strong and on the thicker side and were in a very healthy state before coming. Confirmed by the fact one finger the gel...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible experience. Came here on a recommendation and got gel extensions. Asked her not to buff my nails, she insisted. When I told her I like to soak off only she stuck my hand in a bowl of acetone which Iāve never had done before. I look to my right, the woman next to me is getting a normal soak off with foil. When she used the buff drill, it slipped and drilled around my entire finger. Very uncomfortably filed it down to a thin layer. Cut my nails in the worst way and just stuck an extension on so you couldnāt see. Should have been an hour at most for a very simple design. The nail tech could not even do the design and wouldnt tell me that she couldnāt do it. Had to settle for something simpler two hours into the appointment. Staff informed me my sister and I would be out there at the same time and my poor little sister had to sit there for an hour twiddling her thumbs because of how long my appointment took. Then charged me the full price for a horrible experience where I was hurt, and didnāt even get what I asked for (mind you the price they charged me was $15 higher than what they told me it would be over the phone). Also tried to charge me $45 for a kids mani pedi when the board behind them clearly has written it should cost $27. Little sister got two tiny little pumpkin stickers on her nails they charged me $5 a sticker....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe only reason this review is not 5 stars is because one main reason I went here was for the fancy pedicure chairs that are pictured on their brochure but they were not there ! However the current chairs are cool... Was greeted with a hello and offered bottled water ! That was awesome, only got a pedi and they were very efficient doing all the extra things like wax on my heels and leg massage. One thing that was slightly different for me was there was no polish wall to stand in front of aimlessly lol ! The gels polishes are behind the staff chairs but you pick your colors from the nail swatches like you are getting a gel polish even for regular polish, seems legit. I knew I wanted white and she just grabbed it, the perfect white polish so no problems with the system. I will absolutely return. Seems best to make an appointment, I was a walk-in and did not...
