We celebrated our son’s 2nd birthday at Kid and Caboodle this past week. The kids had a blast, and the facility itself is very clean and ideal for toddlers. One of the biggest positives was the promise of a private party space, which was honored, and the play area is excellent—safe, stimulating, and age-appropriate.
However, a few aspects left us disappointed:
• Understaffed: For a party with 14 kids and over 31 adults, there was only one adult staff member present. While she was kind and tried her best, it wasn’t enough to support a group of that size.
• Poor Communication: We were asked to fill out a party questionnaire, which they later claimed they didn’t receive. I had to re-send all the info via text—not a huge deal, but it felt disorganized considering the party was in 3 days.
• Extra $50 Charge: We booked the final party slot of the day (3pm-5pm) and were told during our initial visit that the end time would be flexible since no one was scheduled after us. We were also informed that since it’s the last party of the day, the kids can play again after eating. Unfortunately, neither of the verbal assurances were honored. On the day of the party, the kids could not return to the play area after eating and guests were promptly asked to start leaving a little bit before 5pm. We continued with the festivities outside- we rented an ice cream truck which was parked in the empty parking lot as a parting treat for the kids. The ice cream truck was mentioned to the staff on-site who responded positively.
Later in the evening, I received a text message indicating that I would need to pay a $50 charge since all of the guests were not out of the facility by 5:15 (all guests had left by 5:25). Additionally, it was noted via text that the ice cream truck was not discussed at the time of the booking even though the contract did not discuss this option since it was a completely different vendor. This charge came via text after full payment had already been made, and felt arbitrary given the earlier verbal assurance of end-time flexibility.
While I commend the venue for its cleanliness and play offerings, the post-party customer service and rigid fee enforcement left a bad impression. The experience would have been much more positive had the initial promises regarding flexibility been honored and the staffing been more proportional to the party size.
In short: the venue itself is great and with some small changes to how they handle staffing and customer interactions, this could easily be a...
Read morePlanning a child's birthday can be stressful with the planning, the setting up, cleaning, and the first main thing of course...finding a place to have it. We have a large family and we try to find a place that has room for the adults to relax for the kids to have a great time. Kid & Caboodle made the entire process of planning and setting up a breeze. I sent out the invites and for the day of the party all I had to do is bring the cake, and of course the birthday kid. I have never been so relaxed planning my sons party. From the time I sent in my inquiry Ashley & Megan got back to me quickly and we secured the date. About a week before Caleb's party we touched base with the theme, amount of guests, and food options. The day of the party, which was also the first time seeing the place. My first impression was that Kid & Caboodle has a very modern bright appearance, everything was organized (just like their party planning!) The place is clean, very clean. There were many small touches that showed they care about the children but also the adults/parents. We did the package where we had the entire place for our party. Everyone seemed comfortable and the kids had so much fun. While the kids played the adults were able to chat and drink coffee that was at the cafe they have inside. Our party was from 3pm-5pm. The kids got to play for about an hour to hour and 15 mins. Afterwards we had pizza followed by cake. We had two party hosts, they were great the whole time and the communication was excellent. They did a group photo of the kids and another nice thing was one of the hosts used my phone to record everyone singing happy birthday. This allowed my husband and I to be able to stand with our son and not have to rely on one of the party guests to do so. But that wasn't all, they had even done party favors for the children which were spectacular. If you are looking to have a party, a play date or just a day to bring your child to play this is the perfect place to do so. We are looking forward to our play date next week and a great option to have our sons 5th birthday party next year. Thank you Megan & Ashley and the staff at Kid & Caboodle for making my sons 4th...
Read morePLACE IS REALLY NICE BUT STAFF/SERVICE NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
We just had my son’s 5th bday party here today. The place was nice and clean. It is really spacious so it is a great place if you have a big party. Our party had 50 adults and 16 kids and the indoor play space was able to accommodate us comfortably. The kids had a blast, especially the bday boy. The room for the cake and pizza for kids was a little small so many of the adults had to stand up but that didn’t bother me too much. What bothered me and some of my other guests was the attitude of the staff. When we moved to the room for the cake, the staff abandoned us and started cleaning the play area. I had to grab them multiple times- 1. To move the table so my son can squeeze to blow the cake 2. To light the candles 3. To cut the cake and serve. They were already busy cleaning instead of attending to us. NOT COOL! They started packing our stuff 10 mins. before our party ends. There were 3 of them in our party, one was young the other one was older and the last one was I’m guessing her age was in the middle of the other 2. The older lady was nice and friendly, the young one was quiet but not really paying attention to us. We ran out of plates multiple times so I had to ask her to bring out more each time. The middle aged one has a bad attitude, it wasn’t just me who noticed it but some of my guests too. I told her that I still need the utensils so I can pack the left over food in containers but then she said there’s only 20mins left I don’t think you have enough time to do that, I said I can do it in 10 mins. She eventually gave the utensils back but the attitude she gave me isn’t really necessary. She was kicking out everyone even if we had 5mins.left. She even kicked out the bday boy from the room while he was still eating his bday cake!!! He came out upset and said that he wasn’t done with his cake. I understand this if we were overstaying but we weren’t. Even the FAQ on the website gives you 15 mins. grace period to leave after the end of your party. See attached pic. If she was friendly/nice then I would have...
