IHOP — Restaurant in Hanover Township

To start off, this is the first time I have ever written a review about any restaurant I have ever been to...the service at this particular IHOP was so incredibly ridiculous that if I could give this place zero stars, I would. I went to eat with my family and as soon as I sat down and ordered my food I ordered an extra short stack of pancakes to-go to take them home. I was basically told by the waitress that she will put in the order later and that by the end of the meal I will be getting them, so ok... when I tell you, the wait time there to get any kind of attention even for some water was just absurd. I had to search for the waitress myself several times to ask her for anything and the response I kept getting was, don't worry it's coming, it's coming...meanwhile hunny nothinggg was coming out and she kept blaming it was the kitchen that was running slow meanwhile her customer service was terrible as well because of her carelessness. During my meal I asked once again about getting the pancakes to-go and long story short, I never got them!!! Lol. I waited for over 40 minutes for the to-go pancakes after my family was done eating and I felt like I had no choice but to speak to a manager and yet again I spoke to the waitress and I kept getting, it's coming, it's coming responses and it never came lol. I felt totally brushed off after a while and I felt like the staff was purposely teasing me into making me stay so long for nothing and that was so frustrating, meanwhile I had already paid for the short stack and I have the receipt showing I did! I got so fed up from waiting that I just left the place and I will never go back to that location again. Seriously though, watch who you hire because it is going to be detrimental to your business and goodluck to others who go there, I hope you don't have such a bad...

We've just returned from dinner at IHOP. Apparently, they were having a difficult night. As we sat down, the manager was profusely apologizing to the two couples seated near us. They had only received two of the four dinners ordered and the waiter failed to return for a lengthy period of time, leaving two of the people with no food.

Our waiter was polite and courteous but there was a lack of communication between him and the kitchen. Only two of the three salads ordered were delivered. It took the waiter, the manager and all three of us to make the staff understand that one of the salads was ordered a la carte. Apparently they just didn't bother to make it because they couldn't grasp adding a salad that wasn't included with the meal. Additionally, the waiter just assumed we were not planning to order dessert. Many waiters in many places make this assumption and it's very annoying, plus a bad business practice. He also seemed surprised that all three of us wished dessert. The sundaes arrived in small bowls, not the traditional sundae dishes pictured on the menu. According to the menu, sundaes in the traditional dishes had three scoops of ice creamwere and were priced at $4.00+. Sundaes in small bowls were just over a dollar. The bowls we received could not possibly have had three scoops of ice cream but we were charged for the larger sundaes. Deceptive advertising? Sloppy work preparing the receipt? Overcharging? A refund definitely...

Ever since I was introduced to IHOP about 40 years ago, I was in love with the idea. Breakfast any time of day, but there is even more to IHOP and the ones that we currently visit, and the selections specific to IHOP in general. We love a lot of their dishes and they have selection for variety or tastes and choices. Some of our personal favorites are Nutella Crepes, which I at times substitute for as a side instead of pancakes. Omelettes and choices, for anyone whether you enjoy your meats, like my wife and I or like our son, who is a vegetarian. We love Big Steak Omelette, Steak Tips and eggs, Country Fried Steak and Eggs, Eggs with Avocado, their variety of crepes and pancake choices. The latest and very interesting that they have is Cannoli pancakes, which our entire family found amazing, but enough about their menu, which by this time most people know whether you are frequent visitor to IHOP or not, but lets talk about service and specific items to this location. Their service is great, everyone is very helpful and professional, whether they are currently your waiter/waitress or not. The place is always clean and conveniently located from multiple major roads. It is also inside the plaza which helps, if you need to have a chore or two done after the meal.
