This used to be a good park for kids. I love the trees and they keep making it worse. All the bushes around the statue gone. Large slide for older kids gone. The swing for wheel chairs gone. I didn’t think the swing for wheel chairs would be good idea because I had the feeling kids would be miss using it. Love the idea but can’t keep it locked not knowing when those who really need it can get it. The park used to be wonderful the way it was. I’m not sure why the big slide is gone. My daughter feels very unamused but everything. The only quality is the freaks trees and the bench with the vine covering. What a sad time for this park it’s amenities since there ridiculous changes have made isn’t worse....

There are annual events and festivals here, weekly concerts in the summer, and multiple play areas and people to lay in the grass. A shelter with charcoal grills is available for reservation, and there are a couple of other grill areas next to benches that are uncovered. There's a paved path that runs from one corner of the park to the other that's great to bike on, as well as a basketball court, beach volleyball court, and two playgrounds. Read moreThere is something for everyone. There are two playground areas, one for big kids and another for toddlers. There is a wheelchair accessible swing. Plenty of grass for tossing a football and such. Some picnic tables. A Pavillion for parties or large groups. Sandy area for volleyball or sand castles. Bathrooms are clean and has a water fountain if you forget your water. Lots of shady areas. My complaint is this: the playgrounds, while on the same side of the park, are a little separate from each other; and the bathroom is a little far from the playground even though it is in the middle...
