The Moscow Farmers Market is one of the best in the region. It takes over several blocks of downtown, including the spur streets.
I love the variety and energy of the Moscow Farmers Market. The only time I’ve ever been there when it’s slow is in the afternoon, when everything is shutting down at 1 o’clock. And that’s at the end of the season if the weather is poor. But during the summer, when the market is going full tilt, it’s a full multi-block party.
There are a couple of public restrooms, which is super nice on the spur streets. That makes it so you don’t have to walk around and start sweating thinking, how am I gonna deal with this? During the summer, too, they also put out tables for people to eat. And there are sometimes live events.
Most weekends, you’ll find musicians scattered around, sometimes in the middle of the market, sometimes at the ends. I’ve seen violinists, guitar players, and saxophonists. It adds to the whole experience and gives the market a great vibe.
The actual farmers market products are solid. The variety is great. I love the peach samples or whatever else they’re handing out. It’s made me buy a bunch of different things I never would’ve tried before.

It is such a hipster, groovy beauty pageant by 98% of all the patrons and venders. And, no one seems to be happy. Fashionably aloof is the best way to describe the crowd. And there are no bargains here, either, like you find in Saturday markets in Central WA. Just people wanting to ooze, schmooze, and be seen. And what few hot food options they do have are priced accordingly for the...
