I've not done a ton of escape rooms, but I've done enough to know which ones are put together well and which ones aren't and Escapology is by far one of the good ones!
We had a party of four today and we did the room "Under Pressure". We were greeted quickly and got to the room a few minutes before our reservation. The rules were made clear and the game was well explained by the in person host and pre recorded video.
We were told that this was one of the more difficult rooms and we didn't make a lot of progress during the first 20 minutes, but once we got into a rhythm, we began to solve puzzle after puzzle until we were ultimately able to "escape". This is a great thing as I've been rooms operated by other companies that were very convoluted and not explained very well and we'd spend an exorbitant mount of time trying to solve puzzles that were not well thought out or looking at areas of the room which were not meant to be of any help.
We even skipped one puzzle because we were able to escape without it... we cleverly circumvented it by maybe reading too much into one aspect of the global key to escape, and the employee that was watching us said that she'd never seen anyone solve puzzle B without first solving puzzle A, so that was kind of cool! And that's not a knock on the design of the room; we just figured that one part of puzzle B meant that we had to do a certain series of steps and we happened to be right and that gave us the information that allowed us to go on to the next step.
I've got the bug now and I want to do more rooms and when we do, we're absolutely coming back to...

I think the Scooby-Doo Escape room is my favorite escape room that I've done at any Escape Room I've been to. Our group absolutely loved it, my friends got together for birthday celebrations and one of them really wanted to do an Escape Room. We looked at all our options, and when we saw that Escapology had a Scooby-Doo room, that was it for most of the group.
The Scooby-Doo room was great, very thematic, lots of elements to make you feel like you were in an episode, no hair pulling way out there ludicrous puzzle designed to burn time. We had so much fun, we went to lunch and booked the Murder on the Orient Express for the next day.
While this one was also highly thematic, and we think there were more puzzles, unfortunately, it does have two puzzles that only seem to exist to frustrate and burn time. Obviously I won't give them away, but I will say for one, it was so poorly lit that I could not even see the solution and on our way out an employee said he thinks they should put LEDs or something to make it easier and I wholeheartedly agree.
So, in summary, it's a great place. At some point with their upcoming expansions, we will return to do them. I cannot recommend the Scooby-Doo room enough. The Orient Express is better for veterans who want a real challenge. Also, knowledge of the source material gets you no advantage but can help enrich...
Read moreJust finished "Under Pressure" escape room with my family (FAILED! 🤣👎🏼) we had tons of fun, and Ben is a great host. My family has gone to several other locations but prefer ESCAPOLOGY ESCAPE ROOMS in Mt. Clemens because they make you feel welcome and appreciate your business. Other locations have made us feel like they were " bothered" that we were even there. At Escapology in Mt.Clemens, Ben was a great promoter of the business, sharing stories of his time there, and plans for what the new owners are doing to improve their business. We even got a "sneak peak" of some of the upcoming rooms under construction! It's refreshing when you see someone employed who actually enjoys their work. Their attitude alone is what makes people want to become repeat customers. Very excited and plan to come back in the next couple weeks with more family. P.S. I'd also like to add how clean the facilities are, from the front lobby to the bathrooms - Escapeology Mt. Clemens is worth the visit! Here's an extra ⭐️ on top of the 5 star review. THANKS for the great time BEN, and...
