Mountain Home Computer Repair — Attraction in Mountain Home

I was about to give up on finding someone to help me fix our iMac that we use for our business. I found John on google maps in mountain home. He has the most amount of 5 star reviews of any local service company. We tried Brooks Jeffrey who say the work on computers, however they said they couldn’t even look at it for at least two weeks. I called MH Nerds — got their answering machine and they never called back. John with Mh Computer Repair answered his phone after hours, picked my machine up after hours, as I told him it had our payroll and time billing software for our employees and payroll was on Friday morning. I had NOT backed up my machine in years. Also my machine was a late 2011 model. There was NO way to replace or get parts to start fixing the not powering up issue which probably meant replacing the power supply or the mother board IF those were the issue. John said to give him a few hours to come up with a solution. He called me back in under 1 hour. He found a working used (donor) machine, in Rolla Missouri. He said the only way to hit my timeline to have me up and running within 1 business day was to have him contact and meet the seller of this used machine 2 hours away. Then bring it back to his office, he worked on taking apart 2 machines (my non working one, and the donor machine) moved the physical hard drive to the donor machine, got it up and running! Our payroll software would not work on new hardware, John went over and beyond to contact the software manufacturer on our behalf, updated the MAC address of our machine registered to the payroll company, and had our machine returned to us by 5:15pm the Thursday NOT EVEN 24 hours later, so we could pay our employees payroll by 8am Friday. John provides unbelieveable service and will find a solution to your problems. He may not be the cheapest in the area, however you get way beyond what you pay for with him. No one in our area has his expertise or his work ethic. He is a go getter and is driven....

$440 for a still broken PC. Computer was facing constant crashes and stuttering. Could’ve sworn I was told it would only be $200ish but I was handed a bill for $440. My computer was wiped and my files were not backed up. Was also told that the “stress testing” was a 4k video run overnight. That is not stress testing. Playing a game or running Cenebench is stress testing. Was told that he should’ve charged for the 11hours of work he did but that he would only charge me for three. I’m sorry but I expect when I pay half a thousand dollars for something to be fixed for it to be fixed. Asked for a refund but currently no word on that. Would hate to do a charge back on my card but if I have to I will. Not to mention I gave him some extra RAM sticks in case the ones I had installed were the issue and he forgot them, said he would deliver them to my house next time he was in town.

(Edit: I am receiving a 40% discount, which is still steep but work was still done even if it wasn’t successful work. He also did offer to look at my computer again for free and I declined due to time...

I had started having issues with my Asus Rog gaming laptop slow start-up snowy screen started looking for a repair shop found Mountain Home Computer Repair on line noticed the 4.9 rating review. Thought I'd give them a try. Called I believe on monday John the owner we discussed the problems with a 10 year old laptop and decided on a full rebuild. Dropped it off on Tuesday John said should be ready by Saturday he called Friday with news that the new battery didn't come in so instead of waiting for it he put it back together with all the new components compleat rebuild less battery and met me with it showing everything is working except the lighted keyboard that couldn't be up dated without the battery. John called when the battery came in. I dropped it off he installed it updated it and in two days I had it back. Great job works as it should supper fast gaming and startups. I very much enjoyed getting to visit with you John and your lovely wife Kelly. You guys deserve a 5 plus rating hands...
